clock repair

Is there anyone out there who can repair an old BHS wall clock which I'm very fond of. The metal tab that holds the battery in place has broken so I need to replace it but don't have the tools. It may be too old & the parts too fragile by now but I don't want to throw it away unless I'm sure it can't be mended.

I am sure it can be mended. The entire clock mechanism will be in a 2 inch x 2 inch black plastic box which also holds the battery. The easiest way is to buy a replacement mechanism which any handy person could fit. I've done it myself. eBay has them for around ?5, but you need to know the correct type.

I don't know anyone who trades as a 'battery clock fixer' but maybe some electronic / computer / phone repair people might help you. The covered market in Peckham could be a place to start.

Please don't throw it away - someone can do it.

    • Hi I am looking to join some local businesses networking events and wondering if anyone can recommend any. I know there used to be one (Cooking with Scissors) but that’s not running any more. Thanks.

    • HA! If only . . . The other night I took the 37 from Herne Hill to Goose Green, only it was diverted via Denmark Hill. That would have been ok, except when the driver reached the junction for Denmark Hill she wasn't allowed to turn right as there were road works on Dog Kennel Hill starting at 8pm and all buses were being diverted via Camberwell Church St and Rye Lane.  I got off there at Kings College Hospital, as I figured it was closer to home than Peckham . . .  Still good for my step count I suppose.
