Pickle
Having spent 15 minutes earlier unscrewing the card reader part of the ELC cash register to remove all the coins which had been posted into it, I've just caught my darling daughter putting them all back in again. I give up. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15244-lost/page/2/#findComment-401280 Share on other sites
ryedalema
Ha ha - I wake up (too bleeping early with a baby's finger shoved up my nose) almost every Saturday morning thinking:"only two days until they're back at nursery..."I know it's wrong...but I'm glad I'm not alone. And totally agree with the 'let them make the decision thing'. We got through (well at least I hope we're through) with giving our eldest choices that didn't involve a 'yes'or 'no'. So... 'would you like to wear a skirt or dress today?', 'which bubble bath do you want?', 'pasta or rice?' (almost never get 'rice' though). That + the naughty corner (which she gets to send us into too!!!) and reward charts seem to have done the trick. I do say that with crossed fingers behind my back, touching wood and holding my breath though.Good luck xx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15244-lost/page/2/#findComment-401286 Share on other sites
damzel
Ah Pickle, that special way of parenting that only dads get away with. All is now clear!ryedalema - we've only just realised benefit of giving a choice between 2 things rather than a question that requires a yes or no. Amazing what difference it has made!Pebbles - how did you get on? It's still working for us - the last 2 days have been so much better! babealicious
I have read the posts on here in disbelief! Who's the parent and who is the child??? I can't believe that small children are 'ruling the roost' and demanding their parents run round after them like skivvies!
