StraferJack
I so want to have a drink in that pub on Dishonored as wellA very good game with amazing attention to detail. Just checking out the world is funI love how they ran out of time/space to complete third floor of the pub but instead of just removing it you can glimpse it through a boarded up partition Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1522-gaming-room-its-a-geeks-paradise/page/47/#findComment-602310 Share on other sites

StraferJack
I have never ever ever had to spend 15 hours on a single boss beforeBut I have nowFinally felled the pair of absolute f***ersThere was whoopingThere was cheeringThere was a lap around the roomAll pales into insignificance compared to the hours of swearing, controller-abuse and near-tears Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1522-gaming-room-its-a-geeks-paradise/page/47/#findComment-607350 Share on other sites

Otta
I'm assuming the 15 hours involved many goes, and many deaths. How long was the actual battle that you won? StraferJack
"what game are we talking about?"some one I've been playing (and banging on about) for over a year now - Dark SoulsI've beaten these guys several times on normal, but this was a New Game+ harder run and was doing fine until thenOtta - spot on. I swear that Stockholme Syndrome set in and I didn't actually want to beat them in the endBut as it happened, the last attempt took maybe 3 minutescan't access youtube at work but a google search gave me some links so hopefully this workshttps://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CDUQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DF50WfARYJm4&ei=t0z1UIzDKsbL0AWNvoD4CA&usg=AFQjCNHBEuZf-QHW0iouoH2EIFQPKIYpzw&sig2=L2uFQQS-bkaIRlf9-7udKw&bvm=bv.41018144,d.d2k Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1522-gaming-room-its-a-geeks-paradise/page/47/#findComment-607413 Share on other sites

Otta
If any of you have any desire to play a bit of guitar, you could do worse than getting rocksmith, and buying any cheapo electric guitar from Argos (it's not like the guitar's natural sustain and tone matter when you're playing through an xbox). It will be miles more satisfying than playing a plastic guitar with buttons on, and it's a good way to get you riffing quickly. El Pibe
finished Dishonored. Genuinely brilliant, it's been a while since I've enjoyed a game that much.Started playing Amnesia: the Dark Descent as intended, dark room and headphones. Can't play it for more than about ten minutes without needing to go have a nice cup of tea and look at cuddly things. Really quite unsettling!!!I'm not sure I'm really enjoying the experience though. To quote the linked review "Amnesia: The Dark Descent is to date, the only game that has ever scared me. Not scared as in a short burst of shock, but in a heart-pounding, sweat-inducing, I-need-to-stop-playing-so-I-can-calm-down kind of scared"Ooh look, even yahtzee quite liked ithttp://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/2092-Amnesia-The-Dark-Descent Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1522-gaming-room-its-a-geeks-paradise/page/47/#findComment-613168 Share on other sites
Otta
Mrs Otta's nephew was at ours yesterday and told me about the game "Slender". Free download online, very atmospheric and jumpy. El Pibe
Excellent, sounds like they have a similar approach to fear; make you powerless and horribly vulnerable. This sort of feels like a quick fix arcade version of Amnesia. bon3yard
Hmm, must be missing something regarding the Slender download because all I ended up with was a raft of Microsoft office clones installed on my desktop. bon3yard
Thanks, I downloaded it last night and had a little go on it. Unfortunately my laptops gone tortoiselike recently so there was an annoying lag whenever I turned around or moved forward through the forest which kinda ruined it a little for me. Certainly atmospheric and I must admit I did give out a little yelp of terror when the slender man turned up for the first time. bon3yard
Really enjoying the new Tomb Raider, they've managed to capture the atmosphere of the original games whilst fixing the crappy camera and bollox jumping mechanics. Thoroughly entertaining and a welcome return to form for Ms.Croft. Thumbs up to Square & Crystal Dynamics. El Pibe
Will get it when tit* drops to twenty quid I reckon.Has anyone played Super Hexagon on iOS/Android? Ludicrously hard, reminds you that games were difficult growing up, not just pretty things that hold your hand. I have yet to make it to level 2 (ie survived for ten seconds)*genuine mistake I kid you not!!!
