Just played N+ on the DS, now I want to find the dev team and ram a thousand DS sound chips down their ears. What a waste, great game, rubbish/non existent sound track.

No news yet on a localised version, but considering the amount of cash spent on it, there is hope. Sad though, how around 80% of the best games on the DS will never be translated, its like being back in the Superfamicom days! :(

Am playing DQIV at the moment, which is quite fun. I see Secret of Mana is out which would be a good blast from the past.

Heh, did you play / griiind your way through the first 3 which came out on the GBA (or was it the GBC???) some years back? Don't really have patience for the "rogue" or grinding rpgs anymore myself, but may well play through the DS incarnation of FFIV as imho, the Superfamicom version was one of the best rpgs ever.

Secret of mana (or Seiken Densetsu for its proper name) was a wonderful rpg, and had a wonderfully bittersweet ending, though sadly most people have never played the first one (the Superfamicom one was actually the second in the series).

They weren't particularly grindy, nothing compared to level 50-60 on WoW (I dread to think what 60-70, or now 70-80(?) must be like) but it has got a bit farmy of late.

Ghibli, is that a phonetic spelling of fish?

Levels 60-70 in WoW were repetitive and long - put me off WoW for life :-S. Probably a good thing though.

Anyone played the new starwars game? Have heard interesting things about it.

Force thingy? It looks the part, you get to be Vader for a bit, and the dark story line has had some good plaudits, but apparently a bit rubbish, repetitive, veers between pointlessly easy and punishingly hard and 15 second unskippable death scene EVERY time you die.

So will probably give it a miss.

Hmm, sounds a bit dodgy, one for the real SW fans. I think George Lucas had something to do with the story line though, it's set between episodes 3 and 4. I think the unskippable cut scene is the nail in the coffin for me, I hate when they do that!

Hadn't touched my wii for ages, but a couple of weeks ago I took a sicky one day, and finished No more heroes. Really really enjoyed it, very bizarre, and some great fights towards the end!

Ah yes, played the demo, looks very nice, but wasn't sold on it. Geometry Wars 2 was better.

any recent 360 is as robust as any other console so I wouldn't worry unduly Shu

I was very excited by the Galaga update not just because I loved the original at the time but the update was being done by the same team who updated Pacman so fantastically a year or so back (and I wasn't a fan of the original Pacman - but this latest version is stunningly addictive)

Shame then that the new Galaga was so ... wooly. It looks gorgeous but lacks any real tension

Shu - please get a 360 (less than a hundred quid in Sainsbo's) just so teh Geometry Wars 2 competition hots up... ;-)

Heh, well I could easily get one free (was in the games biz for ten years, and owed a lot of favours..) but

I hardly have the time to play the DS, let alone the Wii which hasn't been played much at all, will sell it soon I think.

I also have a Japanese edition of the Virtua Fighter 5 Stick for PS3, which I picked up last year for shmups on mame/finalburn etc but sits un-touched.

I just hardly ever have the time for gaming, which, given things I'm involved in, but can't mention here

is pretty sad :(

I guess my main focus when I have spare time is watching Japanese drama, photography and sorting the house out. Been meaning to start a blog for 10 years now, but something always seems to get in the way, and anyhow, there's already 10k other blogs by other jaded freaks out there.

Much as I try to get into modern games, I guess I just love 2d too much, kind of ironic that my DS phat just got crushed and the one guy that could have sorted me out with a new one, gratis (am flat broke!) moved to Australia two weeks ago!

The 360 actually outsold the PS3 two months in a row in Japan, whilst the PSP has been outselling the DS there, funny old market lately...

Speaking of Puckman, the Namco Gallery for DS had that Gamecube multiplayer version included in it ; )
