Due to the international interest in ED, It is now time to produce a guide to ED, so allow the expected throngs of international jet setters an easy assimilation & allow them to use their precious time to the best effect - a begiuling combination of A-Z, Time Out & local Dictionary

no particular order

North Cross Road Market ( The )

A line of council maintained stalls & spaces situated in the Vibrant, Buzzy, exciting North Cross road area of SE22.Vendors sell a wide range of goods, mostly useless, all being insanely overpriced. ED Residents do not actually shop or buy anything at the market, as there is a plethora of retail outlets within walking distance. The market is used mosly by residents to show their prospective In Laws that the area is not a scruffy suburb and they have taste abd culture, befiting a future son in law.The Usual route for exploring the NCR market is via a Lordship Lane gastropub for an offal based lunch, thence a leisurely stroll in the direction of CrystalPalace road.Accepted Protocol means that the ED resident must always constantly remind their out of town visitors/ Prospective in laws, that ED has a village atmosphere and a wide selction of esoteric goods on offer , to suit the dymanic nature of this up and coming Area. Repeat ad nausem for any subsequent tranches of visitors.ED Residents with children should include remarks on the fantastic primary state schooling, but avoid any discussion of potential Secondary schooling Options.

East Dulwich is easily reached from International Airport London Gatwick.

First Capital Trains to London Bridge then Number 40 Bus to the Heart of East Dulwich.

Gatwick Express to Victoria then Number 185 Bus to the Heart of East Dulwich.

Be amazed at the opportunities to waste your money.

Local pubs, no need for cash. Card will do nicely. (minimum charge may apply)

Visit the new Waitrose. Opening in ED shortly.

Just a stroll from North Cross Road Market. You will see the Quaint Terraced houses

the locals live in (Guided Tour avaiable) Ask at the ED Tourist shop. Opening in ED shortly.

Broad-bosomed, bold, becalmed, benign lies East Dulwich 4 square on the London Bridge line. We enter East Dulwich through the verdant grasslands of Dulwich Park or Peckhan Rye, a rose red garden half as gold as green, matched by no marvels seen in eastern cheam. Lo stands a church clock at ten to three and is there honey still for tea. East Dulwich, gateway to the south? (Inspired by words from D. Norden and F. Muir). - 'oneys off dear. -

'Balham Gateway to the South' Peter Sellers 1958. (Not much different to ED?)
