I am "hoping" to have a major operation in the summer which will mean that looking after the kids is likely to be very very difficult. My partner is likely to have time off to help but probably will need to be looking after me quite a bit.

I am thinking that I might book the kids into play scheme for at least two weeks of the summer holidays. Could people suggest some good schemes... half days fine, cheaper the better but would need to take a 4.5 year old and 6 year old.

Thanks in advance

Dear Southeast London mum

My name is Suzie and I run an After school and Holiday club in Dulwich Village. We are open from 8:00-6:00. We go out for day on trips to Brixton Windmill, Hornimans, Dulwich Wood and Campsite, Crystal Palace and Brockwell park. The children that come are mainly infants school age. We are registered with Southwark and Ofsted and all our staff are DBS checked and have Paediatric first Aid training. You are welcome to have a look at out website or drop in one day after school to find out more about it.

Warm Regards

Suzie Gilbert

    • Another recommendation for Andy - he came to our home recently to make some repairs for general maintenance that needed doing. He helped us fix plumbing jobs & installed a washing machine. He also fixed a leak on a downpipe. He also hung up some pictures for us / put up some shelves & helped fix a door that was sticking.  We have used Andy for years so if you are looking for a decent / honest handyman, give Andy a call - he's our go to & a wealth of knowledge - 07564 194363

    • I can highly recommend Jaya Baru who lives locally and walks dogs every day, from little tiny ones to great big ones. She is so calm the dogs behave impeccably and her own lovely Luna is such a good helper. Jaya is kind and considerate,  truly loves dogs and I am so glad to know her. She stayed at my house when I was working away and I know my dog was very appreciative of her care. The dogs and my house were perfectly looked after. Her number is +44 (0) 7534 5701012
    • Just walked back from DV to Lordship Lane and wandered through the estate on EDG.  There's a tree surgeon pruning the trees there (council funded for sure) and it just seems a bit bizarre as the stumps that are left are far from attractive. I would that thought that replacement was what was really needed here. Appreciate that funds are tight but really is there not a better option ?
