Green Machines
Beware, have been warned about a dangerous variation of vehicle theft, particularly vans, occuring very recently in the East Dulwich area. A driver stopped at lights is asked to help with a broken down car nearby, when the driver gets out he is held up at knifepoint for his van. Huguenot
Can you tell us where and when in the ED area?It doesn't make sense to scare people unnecessarily if it's just a general rumour. Sue
Is this an isolated incident, or a series of incidents in the area? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15030-warning-van-thefts/#findComment-396513 Share on other sites

louisiana
I had this happen to me as long ago as summer of 1992, in Queens Road Peckham. So not exactly a novel occurrence.Several similar incidents have happened in Sydenham (Kirkdale) area in recent months. The most worrying: the hijackers drove away with a toddler in the back seat. Luckily they abandoned the vehicle within a couple of hundred yards, probably when they realised they had a child in the back.
