er, read my answers. Mosley's popularity had declined well before 1940, before any fronts and before cosnsription. So your thesis that the youth weren't about explaining his lack of success looks pretty false. It's hardly surprising he got interned in 1940 given the security situation and his opinions.

I am bored and an old timer but you're just looking for fights and I'm bored of that too. You're not intersted in any conversation.

I'm looking for fights?

reread the post of mine that you responded to within minutes and explain what was fight-y about it.

If you're bored and have to pic them yourself (like a few other old timers here) try being a 'fresher' elsewhere or stfu and use IGNORE.

I daresay throwing blame where it doesn't belong is your habit at home too ????. If so your sharers have my sympathy.

Look for where the exchange became insulting (as opposed to merely swapping or questioning opinions) and get off that pedestal of thinking you are right (or in it).

I was in a convo with Tarot, it was doing fine.

Do you behave the way you did when you pass people talking on LL?

My opinion was not 'tosh' ...... nor was it something that anyone other than a poser would use the word 'thesis' about, as if over-describing something you then knock down heightens the satisfaction you give yourself.

I expressed horror about reminders of a period when our establishment contained a member who was far worse even than Powell, more full of hate and more intent on whipping up people's emotions.

There IS such a figure that is manipulating young disaffected people now.

Ignore that if you wish but don't expect others to.

    • A huge thank you to Julian Richards for fitting our custom wardrobes in two of our bedrooms, we are so happy with the results, they really feel a 'part of the room', super integrated with the space. Julian was a joy to work with, extremely helpful talking through the various options to help make decisions around the look and feel of the wardrobes vs the storage space, and approaches the build in a very methodically and logical manner, ensuring all our needs are taken into account to deliver a space that works for us and our lives. An excellent carpenter and a pleasure to have in the house. I highly recommend working with Julian!
    • Yes - and this is a good thing because meeting housing targets is a good thing. If Labour or any other party had managed to do it consistently over the last decade perhaps we wouldn't be in a housing crisis. I'm not sure if "don't build more housing because it's only rich foreigners that will end up living there" is official Lib Dem policy or not.
    • Does anyone know of anywhere local where I can hire a large shredder? The new Library of Things in the Leisure Centre doesn't presently have one, apparently because they are in the process of getting new improved  ones. I would have preferred to use them, but I  need to dispose of a very large amount of stuff,  and I don't want to wait indefinitely. There's too much of it to dispose of by other methods, like soaking in the bath, and anyway I want to recycle it once it's shredded.
    • Southwark owns it. It's leased to some guy from Orpington or something. They have tried to run a bar, restaurant, Uber Eats dark kitchen, nightclub for one off events...but never quite committing to one of them or being very successful. Some of the nightclub nights are a shambles: booze bottles all over the pavements, screaming and yelling, dickheads racing cars. I didn't know they were doing swingers nights - obviously I don't move in the right circles to get an invitation... 😞 It's odd that no-one has been able to make a real go of it in recent years. It should be a great space - a country manor feel in the centre of London overlooking a park? But the forecourt is a bit shabby. BTW much as I dislike Musk - I'm not sure I can blame the Belair House lot (which is a tiny business) much for taking money to let them do a launch event. And calling Belair House "sacred" seems a bit of a stretch 🤷
