Haven't been on petrol site for ages, so just checked. When I said Tesco, I meant Esso! Here's the breakdown (Morrisons have moved into second place):

Esso Forest Hill Express 119.9p updated 22-12-2010

Morrisons Peckham 120.9p 23-12-2010

Murco E.Dulwich 122p 23-12-2010

BP Peckham Connect 122.9p 23-12-2010

Texaco Grove Vale 123.9p 23-12-2010

What website is that for cheap petrol in your area?

Otherwise I shall check on here.

I heard on Radio 4 a prog about whiskey that it costs about 40p to put the whiskey in the bottle, the rest is tax and reasonable profits for the company.

The government taxes about 80% (I think?) for the petrol?

Thanks for posting the cheaper places - don't forget that driving the extra miles to the cheaper petrol may not make economical sense!

I particularly liked this bit on that apocalyptic site

"Last Friday's update will be the final LATOC Breaking News update. LATOC will remain as an archived resource here on the web but will no longer be updated. I'm moving on to focus on my astrological and related practices. Those of you who have asked about consultations, my standard rate is $200 for a full anaylsis of your chart in MS Word format. Best of luck,

Yes Tarot it appears that now the snow is gone the petrol thieves are back. Our scooters tank was drained again last night, as was our neighbours. And I thought they had given up after we stopped leaving any decent amount of fuel in it ...

    • As posted elsewhere Jojm is a superb plasterer, highly experienced and very good. And will either just get on with the job or, if you wish, have a good chat with you - he's a Dubliner so very friendly! I have either used him directly (once, for a biggish job, a couple of rooms, insulated plaster boards and finishing) and twice for neighbouring landlord where I arranged and saw his work completed expertly and efficiently. Recommended. He loves dogs too. If relevant...

    • How about we go straight to the source then if you think it's questionable: Here's Unite Group's annual report: https://www.unitegroup.com/annual-report-and-accounts-2024 Download the PDF and you'll find the 97.5% occupancy rate. You know a lot of these news sources exist because digging through annual reports is laborious and not immediately accessible to the masses. They're reporting on what Unite Group, a public company, is reporting. It's making something more digestible. They're not just making up numbers. They'd end up without much business if they were. PBSA is a big industry. Here's another take (though a year older) from Cushman and Wakefield: https://www.cushmanwakefield.com/en/united-kingdom/insights/uk-student-accommodation-report  Like CBRE, they're also reporting supply shortages. Again, to be occupied by students.
