williamangel
Ask for a discount on Christmas tree prices. The guys who sell Christmas trees on my forecourt at the old William Angel Gallery have made a point of offering a discount to anyone who goes down and mentions the East Dulwich Forum. I always get a tree from the guys, (this is their fourth year selling there), and the trees are very good quality. buddug
williamangel: How late do they sell trees on your forecourt, if they haven't already sold out? You don't happen to know if they will be selling some more on Christmas Eve, do you? My work hours have prevented me coming along. Thanks. Peckhamgatecrasher
They haven't been there since the end of last week. Try John Allen in Lordship Lane or Plant Nation on crossroads of Crystal Palace Road and the one opposite North Cross Rd whose name I can't remember! Jeremy
We got ours last weekend from the place under the arches next to Brick brewery. Unfortunately it is dropping so heavily, I think it will be completely bare by Christmas. It is standing in a pot filled with water. Maybe I was unlucky. Jeremy
Hi Sean - thanks for your reply and your PM.Understand these things are a bit random and its probably just bad luck. I would happily take you up on your kind offer... if I hadn't just broken my foot and was housebound for the rest of the year! But I appreciate you getting in touch. malumbu
Every year people set up in pub car parks etc selling trees. I suspect they don't need to work the rest of the year because they make a killing. Every year they say what a bad year it has been (early frost, late frost, too wet, too dry...) for the trees.Where is the competitive pressure from us as consumers and other suppliers?Great to know. I did buy from a couple of places but every year they hiked their prices up.
