Hi LM.

The letters are not quite as random as they seem. They seem to form blocks

of characters that are next to each other on the keyboard. Looks like you may of

leant on the keyboard or placed say a book on it. ???

Just close the window as Kalamitykel has suggested by clicking the Red X top right of the

Windows Help and Support Window.

Actually, I've just had a thought...

I did clean the keyboard earlier on (with a toothbrush and slightly damp rag)...it was grubby/dusty and was annoying me...:-S

But never mind that, how can I get rid of this stupid rubbish and the green arrow with underscore and the white question mark within the blue circle?

I'm sorry, but I've no idea - I've never used windows support and I didn't ask to use it today. But thanks for PM...am about to try your instructions...

Hi LM

Position your mouse over the Blue Circle with the ? mark

You should see a little box with the a discription

If it says Help and Support. Click on it.

It will either close the box already open or open a new box.

If it opens a new box try and close that box with the Red X

If that closes then you should be able to close the other box.

KK you are a genius! Control alt delete and going into task manager and deleting windows support did the trick. Phew! That's got rid of the offending page AND the question mark in blue circle. There still remains the matter of a green light on the keyboard bearing a downward arrow (underscored). Any further ideas? I've pressed every button on the keyboard (I think), but it's still there. But it's minor - so relieved the gibberish has gone.

I am REALLY grateful.
