Possible bike theft or break-in attempt

Hi All,

I was woken around 3:20am this morning by the repeated sound of a hacksaw being used with a single stroke against something metal. We live on Whateley Road, about half way up. Whoever and whatever was going on seemed to stop once I opened a few windows and made a bit of noise (not sure if the sound was coming from the front or back of the house). Had it continued I would probably have called the police as I know there have been a number of bike thefts and break-ins recently. If you're in the surrounding area I'd suggest you check any external bike locks, sheds padlocks etc.
