supergolden88
I have gotten in touch as I am looking for part time/temporary childcare in January. Just had telephone conversation so far sounded ok although expensive. Sanne Panne
They charge 4 weeks pay, some others charge 5, it's expensive indeed but you do get good exposure. I signed up, got a bunch of good CVs through but eventually found someone really great through this good old forum. I'd do both - sign up with the agency and keep an eye open (and/or post an ad) here too. candj
We've used Abbeville Nannies and found them very good. It was for a temp nanny a few years ago when my second was born. The nanny was absolutely wonderful and I wanted to hire her full time, but she lived in Balham and transport links for her were a nightmare to ED (so we never had to pay the fees, etc for hiring one). The agency was very professional and sent 3-4 candidates for us to interview and all the girls seemed capable. HTHs and good luck.
