Ramble66
Nationsl Rail website is useful. http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/en/s/ldbboard/dep/EDW/LBG/To Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14581-trains-and-other-transport-running-this-morning-the-travelwatch-in-the-snow-official-thread/#findComment-387825 Share on other sites
Floating Onion
The live departure boards are somewhat useful, but the journey planner was lying earlier. The 7:05 was about 15 mins late. Some of the later ones were already cancelled. Lots of big delays going the other way. Blondie
Just got on the 0705 that was running 15 minutes late. The 0715 was saying it was delayed, no idea for how long and the 0729 was cancelled. When I was at the station they announced that the 0630 and 0645 and 0728 going the other way were all cancelled. I did see a train going the other way. Basically i think its a case of trying your luck. Floating Onion
Saw some, traffic is taking it easy. I suspect that the buses will be rammed very soon! Floating Onion
Judging by the boards at London Bridge it looks like most services are a complete mess. Blondie
Buses might be a better option. When I went to the station I saw a 185 and a 40 at the bottom of Dog Kennel Hill, they weren't packed (it was 0710 though) and went off up the hill ok. kristymac1
Buses were fine first thing this morning - all main roads are clear, ED - Victoria in around 40mins (it was 7am though) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14581-trains-and-other-transport-running-this-morning-the-travelwatch-in-the-snow-official-thread/#findComment-387854 Share on other sites
Peckham native
Was on the same 7.05 delayed to 7.20 as others. When I looked at the departures board at London Bridge there didn't appear to be much moving. Am now in office overlooking railway lines and there are a few trains coming in & out but only a few. I guess bus may be the best bet as traffic seems light. Jeremy
My house backs onto the tracks, and I can see a train trundling past every 10 mins or so. So things are moving, just not to timetable. I'm going to leave shortly and try my luck. taper
Any road used by a bus seems ok this morning. Cycled in this morning up Peckham high st, Walworth Road and Blackfriars; no problem, frostbite aside. Roads pretty clear of traffic and buses seemed to be getting in fine. Trains few and far between on the lines behind my house though. rn22
Anyone know if the 40 is starting at Dulwich library this morning, rather than Goose Green like it was last night?! Have to decide which way to turn out my front door! Thanks! SeanMacGabhann
At 7am outside Cafe Nooro, where there is an update display, there were no 40s mentioned and I saw none pass either way so I'm guessing not. Or at least I wouldn't rely on one Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14581-trains-and-other-transport-running-this-morning-the-travelwatch-in-the-snow-official-thread/#findComment-387868 Share on other sites
Peckhamgatecrasher
If you are driving, please remember to select a higher gear than first to slowly pull away. My road is teeming with eejits giving it far too many revs and slipping all over the place. Carrie
37 Bus is being diverted - from TFL website"37Buses are diverted between Goose Green and Herne Hill Station, not serving East Dulwich Grove and Half Moon Lane and diverted via Grove Vale, Dog Kennel Hill, Grove Lane, Champion Park, Denmark Hill and Herne Hill due to adverse weather conditions." Nero
The 63 (Kings X - Honor Oak) was terminating at Peckham Rye last night, according to a woman I met at the bus stop this morning. 363s were scant on the way down from Forest Hill Road into Peckham Rye. Rook
This morning it was definately a case of chancing your arm. For me, there were 63 and 12 buses running and trains heading from Peckham Rye to London Bridge, but not to timetable. Some guy was permanently talking over the tannoy at Peckham Rye- asking commuters to ignore the screens, but instead (helpfully) explaining when the next train was due and from which platform. Thats all we want on these ruddy snow days...clarity! To that end, I would really appreciate if anyone can advise what the 'homeward bound' service is looking like, should they experience it before 6pm. For me, thats trains from London Bridge to Peckham Rye/East Dulwich. The national rail website is utter tosh and is not real time, so instead if you experience this route first hand and can give an accurate take on the frequency/reliability of service (or not) as per your experiences, it would be very much appreciatedcheers :-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14581-trains-and-other-transport-running-this-morning-the-travelwatch-in-the-snow-official-thread/#findComment-387977 Share on other sites

katietatie
I live at the far end of Underhill and have just seen two 363's go past for the first time since Monday evening! That suggests that they can at least now make it up the hill. Good luck people!
