dukesdenver
What's the snow situation like in ED? Are trains and buses still running OK? Just debating whether or not to leave work early...Thanks in advance for any info. Champers
On Lordship Lane right now, it is not snowing and the road is being used as normal. I have seen some snow still on some pavements and side roads but turning to slush. Not sure what the trains are like but buses appear to be running ok. All could change if there's more snow this afternoon but looks ok for the moment. Penguin68
Although it's smowing it is also above freezing - that means that what was compacted snow/ ice earlier this morning can now be easily shifted - by anyone who wants to clear previously compacted frozen snow away from their frontages. It will (almost certainly) fall below freezing tonight which means that anything still compacted will be treacherous tomorrow morning. Garden paths, driveways, pavements - the trick may be to do this as late as possible whilst still not frozen to avoid build up, or when it stops snowing (if it does). Michael Palaeologus
Heavy snow now. Forecast from the BBC for SE22 is pretty much continuous snow for the rest of the day and into the evening. PeckhamRose
Just walked across the park and back to the dentist. Snowing strongly all across it and the lake is frozen over. What's more, I fed a dog biscuit to a beautiful King Charles Cavalier Spaniel only to see that at the other end of the lead was one of the McGann brothers. Wow. Anyway, so the park is absolutely beautiful and the ducks and geese would welcome some spare bread! Peckhamgatecrasher
Please not bread! Bird feed if you must - I know how enjoyable it is to feed them (especially the greedy geese who will happily hand feed) but try to resist the temptation.advice on feeding ducks - don'tPS - Am jealous of McGann Watch - I shall stalk all the KCC Spaniels I see from now on. Marmora Man
No 63 bus now terminating at Peckham Rye - cannot manage the turn a Forest Hill Tavern. Forest Hill Road by the tavern lights very slippery with cars sliding and not under control. Applespider
Assuming the 363 is the same or is it just the U turn rather than the turn into Woodvale that is tooslippy? KalamityKel
If all else fails (transport wise) use ya legs it wont kill ya and will certainly avoid frozen limbs and such from waiting for the non existent bus or train Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14557-snow-watch/#findComment-387558 Share on other sites
VeryBerryCherry
It might if I have a problem with my legs, which unfortunately I do right now. Normally I am all up for good old fashioned "use your legs" mentality. Only now do I realise that that isn't always an option for some. merylou
the snow isn't settling on Lordship Lane at all, so the buses seem to be running up and down as normal Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14557-snow-watch/#findComment-387564 Share on other sites

KalamityKel
Tfl is unlikely to provide accurate or particularly useful information as buses r being pulled all over the place (not literally - i wouldnt want to be held responsible for any mass panic afterall!) Applespider
Oh... I have my snow boots under the desk just in case I have to walk any distance but which buses are running may influence which route home I take to get most of the way home. I'd have a shortest walk from Forest Hill station but have to pay for extension and overall journey time longer than going to Denmark Hill or Peckham Rye and getting bus.
