You just reminded me to check! Our baby was born 5th Nov and I've just checked my bank and the backdated payment was paid in yesterday. I'd give them a call to chase it up if I were you. Have you had the birth certificate returned yet? That might be an indicator that they've received the paperwork.

Wow KateW how did you manage to get a birth certificate so fast? My baby was also born Nov 5th but registration is not till Dec 7th (I assume that's when you get certificate?)

Also where did you get the child benefit forms? I missed out on Bounty packs and the like...

Supergolden, I'm an on of those ex-East Dulwich-ers who can't give up the forum! We live in Cambridge now and hubby registered the birth when she was 4 days old! And yes, you get the certificate at the same time. You can download the child benefit forms from the gov website.

Hi Kate,

Please forgive the slightly random response to your post. I have friends in East Dulwich who thought there might be some new mums on this forum who would be interested in taking part in some paid market research for one of our clients - a major baby product brand. I work for a marketing agency called The Lounge Group, based in London Bridge. We're setting up a research project for 1st time mums with babies under 3 months or who are in their 3rd trimester of pregnancy.

In return for spending about 30 minutes each day contributing to a private Facebook discussion group with other new mums for 5 days from Mon 13th - Fri 17th December, you would be paid ?50 cash + ?50 in baby product vouchers.

If you or any of the mums you know would be interested or if you want to find out more and ask some questions, please do email me at [email protected]

Many thanks,

Sian

    • I know that for some people, particularly those with small children (and possibly also those with mobility issues) the convenience of having a surgery within a very short walking distance outweighs any other considerations. Also, there is parking available near DMC for those living further away. I guess it is a matter of weighing up pros and cons. Plus, familiarity is important to some, and also many people don't realise how easy it is to change surgeries. Btw none of the above is supposed to imply that pressure shouldn't be put on DMC to improve.  Though maybe a load of their patients moving elsewhere might help focus their minds!
    • As posted elsewhere Jojm is a superb plasterer, highly experienced and very good. And will either just get on with the job or, if you wish, have a good chat with you - he's a Dubliner so very friendly! I have either used him directly (once, for a biggish job, a couple of rooms, insulated plaster boards and finishing) and twice for neighbouring landlord where I arranged and saw his work completed expertly and efficiently. Recommended. He loves dogs too. If relevant...
