bli
HiWe're hoping to come along this afternoon, but as I'm taking baby bli to the new baby cinema screeing at Peckham during his usual nap time it may all go completely haywire after that! But if we don't make it, would love to do it next time. snowboarder
Hello - sorry didn't make it - late nap coupled with cold feet about how to cope with escapee toddler in large pub...how did others manage?!? Gussy
Hi Snowboarder, I made sure I bought LOTS of snacks, a few books and teddy and blanket....seemed to work for a bit before the lure of the conservatory proved too much! Pickle
My two sat at a separate table laden with snacks and toys - worked a treat (until home time, at which point 4yo declared it wasn't dark enough yet and threw a strop... that'll teach me for promising that they'd get to have an adventure and ride their scooters in the dark!).Nice to meet you all today.P x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14551-stay-at-home-mums/page/3/#findComment-400906 Share on other sites
Princess
Having started this thread, I REALLY apologise for not making it yesterday. Yet again, my little boy has come down with a nasty stomach bug and we have spent the last 3 days climbing the walls whilst doing copious amounts of washing! It sounds as though it was a great success though. I'm praying we'll be fit and well by next week!Px Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14551-stay-at-home-mums/page/3/#findComment-400939 Share on other sites

Princess
I have to confess that despite starting this thread, we didn't make it to either of the meets due to illness first him and then me! We're away this week but if you do get it up and running again Thursday afternoon at The Plough we'll try for the following week. Fuschia
Plough is bad for manic twin toddlers plus nap intervenes but could do 2-3pm... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14551-stay-at-home-mums/page/3/#findComment-412982 Share on other sites
snowboarder
I'd love to meet up and our afternoons post nap are sometimes a bit dull...but toddler sleeps until 3pm and is runaway prone - so I have no idea where to suggest as suitable meeting place! The plough not great - doors/behind bar exploration etc!! Maybe if we can find some secure outdoor space once summer comes we can join you... Sanne Panne
Brockwell Park playground is nice, so is the paddling pool I heard, both are fenced Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14551-stay-at-home-mums/page/3/#findComment-412999 Share on other sites
snowboarder
Fences need to be high - Dulwich park for example is easy to escape from!! Out of interest when do they stop doing this? The running away bit I mean? It's totally tedious, and not really about being naughty, it's more that he just has NO sense of danger etc yet. Anyway....hopefully we will get to meet sometime...I'm a bit scared about facing the world with 2 - 1 has been enough of a challenge so far!! Our twins are much better now, though i still prefer well fenced areas, and ones with few perils. Duliwhc park fails on allcounts - how decided it was a good idea to put a roundabout between the toddler slides?! millie42
What about an outside playdate at Goose Green playground then a coffee and cake in a cafe? I think the playground is fairly secure and then hopefully they will be tired and easily bribed with cake! millie42
Hi,I take my two year old there with his five year old brother and both totally love it! So yes re toddlers! We are always there. Poo incident - very funny! Since my kids arrived - I have no shame!M Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14551-stay-at-home-mums/page/3/#findComment-413052 Share on other sites
millie42
Ps there is also section for small children so would be ok for new walkers as well!It is outside (so brass monkeys) but not sure there is really anything suitably child friendly and indoors in ED. Everywhere will usually accept children but not really geared up to contain/keep them out of trouble for any length of time! What about a session at a softplay centre?
