Following on the birth of Little Saff nearly a year ago, my make-up routine went from absolutely beautiful, to absolutely abominable! Five minutes is REALLY all I can spare for make-up, and I'd like to learn how to make the most of it. I asked my friend and very talented make-up artist Fiona Tanner about doing capsule parties for a 5-min face. Here's her reply:

'I can do ?15.00 per person up to 4 people and ?12 for 6 or more. I can bring a small kit. If the ladies bring their make up bags then I can advise on each-if they explain their routine I can offer helpful hints- It takes about 20-30mins per person. -Best Fiona '

A couple of friends have already expressed interest, and I'm happy to host at mine. Get back to me with your thoughts (wk day/wknd?, morning/afternoon?) if you want to join the fun. :-)

Just a note to say thanks for joining the fun, ladies. We were a small group in the end, so Fiona was able to take extra time with everyone. It was so much nicer than a slap and dash at the counter in Selfridges!

If anyone is interested in organising their own capsule party with Fiona, or looking for bridal make-up etc, Fiona's website is http://www.ftmakeuplondon.com/.

I went to the 5 minute face party at Annas-thanks so much for organising and hosting at yours

Fiona was absolutely brilliant-she identified all the areas I wanted to focus on without me even saying anything and took time to explain correct application techniques. My husband said I looked 10 years younger after the makeover(with a bit of prompting )and had kissable lips !Well worth the money and a very enjoyable experience.

I can recommend eyelash extension! They last for weeks without the need for mascara so u can actually be ready as soon as you wake up! and just add some blusher and lipstick if you like. so thats 2 minute Face!

I have had it done myself and it was fantastic! it lasted for 6 weeks even while i was on holiday swimming!!! it was ?60 for a full set. If your interested call/text 07956 017 595 or email [email protected] you can also visit www.extensionsrus.webs.com to have a look at the website.

I noticed Rhea already has a recommendation on here under Eyelash extensions. :))

There were deffo a few people interested who couldn't make it round mine. Maybe start a new thread, so people know you're up for another get-together? I'm sure Fiona would be very happy to make a date for you. (Eyelash extensions sounds cool too!)

All the best :-)

    • PCSOs may not need specific qualifications, but they go through a reasonably rigorous recruitment process. Or at least they used to. It may have changed.
    • The ones I've dropped into may be organised by PCSOs in the SNT but regular PCs have attended. They have actually been a cuppa with a copper, but not necessarily loads of them.
    • @Pereira Neves "Cuppa with a Coppa" is a misrepresentation as PCSOs are not real police.   They have no more powers of arrest that any public citizen. They may have the "authority" to advise the regular police of a crime - just like Joe Public. One exception is that they can issue fixed penalty notices to people who cycle on a footpath. We see people cycling on the footpath every day but have never seen a PCSO issue a fixed penalty notice to anybody. No  qualifications are needed to become a PCSO.  At best, all they do is reassure and advise the public with platitudes.
    • Right.  Already too many people saying “labour pushed for longer and more stringent lockdowns” which if nothing else, does seem to give credence the notion that yes people can be brainwashed    Nothing ...  Nothing Labour pushed for was about longer lockdowns.  Explicitly, and very clearly they said “lock down early OR we will be locking down for longer “   ie they were trying to prevent the longer lockdowns we had   But “positive thinking” and “nothing to see here” from Johnson led to bigger problems    as for the hand-wavery about the economic inheritance and markets being spooked by labour budget - look - things did get really really and under last government and they tried to hide it.  So when someone tries to address it, no one is going to be happy.  But pretending all was tickety boo is a child’s response
