philosophie
HiSorry, wasn't sure exactly where to put this. I was just wondering whether any of you very well-informed people on this forum could shed light on exactly which zone I live in? I am on Heber Road, so between ED (zone 2) and Forest Hill (zone 3, I think). I'm not sure if it matters so much if you travel by bus though...Sorry - even I am embarrassed by the unexcitingness of this post :-$Thanks! JohnL
If you have a travel card of more than one zone - I think buses are free in all zonesno link though. miket53
I think the zones change at Goose Green. Heber Road is Zone 3. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14501-travelcard-zones/#findComment-386238 Share on other sites
KidKruger
When I used to get the bus to town from Thomas More hall on LL my 1/2 zone travelcard was NOT valid. This is before the new bus rules came in but may help answer the zone boundary question. peterstorm1985
From TFL website, you will need zone 3 on your travelcard if you want to use buses in zone 3"Use Travelcards on buses in all zones and trams if your Travelcard includes Zones 3, 4, 5 or 6"travelcard zone for buses Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14501-travelcard-zones/#findComment-386262 Share on other sites
ClareC
I thought all ED was zone 2, my season ticket for zones 1&2 worked fine at the Heber Road stop. Keef
It definitely used to be zone 3, up to Goose Green, but could have changed I guess. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14501-travelcard-zones/#findComment-386308 Share on other sites
cate
Don't the bus stop signs say which zone they are in? They used to. And I too thought Zone 3 started after GG roundabout. philosophie
Thanks, everyone! I will check on the bus stop but, if no help, will assume Zone 3 :-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14501-travelcard-zones/#findComment-386357 Share on other sites
MissS
I have a zones 1-2 travelcard and hop on the bus at Dulwich library every day without any extra charges - on my experience you're zone 2 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14501-travelcard-zones/#findComment-386377 Share on other sites
Jeremy
Yep, I used to live up near the plough, and would use my 1-2 travelcard on the bus most days. No problem. Peckhampam
How interesting. I thought of course the info will be available somewhere on TFL but I couldn't find it. Ask the driver? Applespider
Before the flat rate bus fares (one price regardless of number if stops travelled), zones made a difference on buses since your fare was based on zones travelled. Now so long as you have any Travelcard with a bus component, you can get on any bus. The quote above says you can use buses in ALL zones but only trams if you have other zones. I live in zone 3 but since I only catch trains in 1/2, I can just buy the z1/2 travelcard. When I first lived there, it was a z1-3 pass Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14501-travelcard-zones/#findComment-386430 Share on other sites
ultraneon
Interesting! I use a 2/3 zone travelcard, but for the past four years, I've been buying a zone 1 day travelcard if I take the bus to the Southbank. Does this mean I can get on a bus in zone 1 with my 2/3 travelcard? cate
I would call the TFL number and speak to a human being:- 0207 222 1234. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14501-travelcard-zones/#findComment-386486 Share on other sites
kristymac1
a zone 1 and 2 travel card definitely gets you on the bus in all other zones - didn't used to but things changed about 4 years ago. I've used mine out in zone 6/7 without any hassle Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14501-travelcard-zones/#findComment-386510 Share on other sites
