1 bed flat or studio wanted in West Norwood

Hello all

My girlfriend and I are returning from India and require a 1 bedroom flat or decent sized studio for a 6 month rental term from mid April 2017.

We are both working (me a self employed painter and handyman with excellent references on this and other forums and my girlfriend is a care worker, working with young adults with learning disabilities).

We last rented a property through the EDF and were lucky to find a great couple who had a place where we stayed for over 2 years (both avoiding all agency fees). I can also provide a reference from this rental too and some evidence I made significant improvements to the property during our stay based on our agreement with the landlord.

Ideally we would like to be in West Norwood and for the property to be self contained, ie not sharing. If there is anyone with a suitable property who is keen to rent privately (through an AST and with relevant deposits) it would be great to hear from you.

  The younger (and some older) people have taken an unused unloved space and made it their own. Where do we think young people should go? I was involved in a campaign with a group of younger people a few years ago to get a skate park built. I was so shocked by the backlash and nastiness from a vocal 'adult' few. The young people themselves said that they are told they shouldn't spend all their time on screens and yet when they come together and do something that is physical that involves socialising and positive connection they get slated for it. The skating community is so welcoming and supportive. Come on people - see the bigger picture and the positives. They've made a good place to be out of nothing - they are recycling and building and being creative and social and entrepreneurial. I suggest we reflect on what the real issue is here.   A beer in the garden would have been nice, I'm sure! Mine was a meal inside. I don't remember much about it except that it was horrible.

  Went to the Harvester a couple of times to have a beer in the garden, it was quite popular and had a 'certain' charm.
