Needed: Quote for rewiring lamps/ recommendation for electrical shops

I have a few 50s/60s lamps that need rewiring, but a shop has charged me ?65 for just one of the lamps. This seems absolutely extortionate to me, and I feel thoroughly ripped off.

Can an electrician - or someone who has had a lamp professionally rewired recently - give me an idea if this is a standard price for the job, including parts & labour, & vat? Or recommend an electrical shop anywhere in London that does rewiring at a reasonable price?

I was hoping to get the other lamps rewired, but I can't afford that kind of money!

im not no but like i said i know theres people on here that will do it . and i can tell you even if you ask a proper sparky there not gonna charge that to rewire a lamp at most your looking at 20 pound

If anyone can give me an idea of what they've paid for similar/ roughly what they would charge for rewiring a lamp, that would be great. Thanks!
