MUDDY BOOTS Children's Outdoor Nature Group sessions at the Devonshire Road Nature Reserve in Forest Hill.

Come for a blustery day outside tomorrow! - we can use the visitor centre building if we need to get dry, but we'll definitely be getting out for an explore in the woods to see what signs of Spring we can see.

Spring flowers are out, buds on the trees, bulbs coming up and the first FROGSPAWN is here! Come and have a look and a feel of the first stage of life for the Reserve's Common frogs

Wellies and waterproofs needed!

The sessions run all year round, so that way children can get outside and and have fun in all the different seasons and weather!

Muddy Boots sessions: - join us for time at basecamp learning about different aspects of nature, there'll be a hands on nature activity (this may be nature investigations, simple tool work, or a seasonal nature craft). There's also digging, watering and mud painting on offer in the garden. We have a walk in the woods (distance to suit your child) and then we head back to the Meadow Basecamp for snacks and drinks, songs, stories or poems.

It's hands on, engaging, relaxing, fun, and all outside in the fresh air of the lovely nature reserve.

Sessions run every Monday and Friday 10-11.30. They are currently drop in sessions, so no need to book ahead, just turn up on the day.

Meet up at the big green iron Reserve gates on Devonshire Road (opposite Tyson road) at 10am. There is on-street parking on Devonshire Road and Tyson Road.

Prices:

It's ?7 per child, ?10 for 2 siblings, child-minded children discount available

    • Today Lukasz hung multiple pictures inside and new door numbers outside, reasonably priced, very tidy, efficient and quality craftsmanship, I recommend.

    • It was a marketing approach to get kids to do exactly the opposite.  ie watch the programme.  'Why don't you' was very progressive at the time. It encouraged kids to partake in craft type activities.  Creative, just like the skatepark https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Why_Don't_You%3F
    • I agree its good to have a conversation about what Lordship lane really needs and I feel we are doing that in this forum; and some trying to steer it away from what commerce needs (lordship lane) and toward what people need, particularly our future generations who are being left a fractured future and are responding with higher suicide rates and depression.  no doubt the world of profit will win, but that is why some of us wish to speak out even if in vain.   I agree with you that there may be some underage drink drugs but would we all prefer that to be done behind closed doors .... I think more dangerous actually.   I applaud your optimism that dulwich estates could consider a skatepark into Dulwich park, maybe, although it could have closing time, insurance, safety issues. It would be great if a developer wants to include a skatepark, but I wonder what he would gain from that in terms of his profit.  I would rather give the benefit of doubt to those who leave behind the empty digital world and bravely try something communal, generative, challenging.   In the 1970s a tv programme urged teenagers to  "turn off your TV set and do something less boring instead" only some families can afford clubs......
