legalbeagle
I heard you Jah, thanks for the suggestion, and I'll be testing it out. But you've forfeited your free bacon sarnies for life for swearing at me and starting a sarky thread. So there. HonaloochieB
Stevo, head honcho of the 80s record label Some Bizarre used to eat raw bacon, at least for a time.I'd start dropping this into conversation with the punters to get a buzz sizzling. Occaisionally murmur the words 'bacon tartare' with a faraway look in your eyes, accompany this with lip-smacking, stomach-rubbing and yummy noises. But don't go over the top or the billies'll think you're taking the p!ss, and you don't want that. Good luck. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14337-how-to-cook-bacon/page/3/#findComment-383997 Share on other sites

louisiana
Install a lovely wood-burning stove (for smokeless zones) with a rear-mounted flue.Light stove, and get some chunky logs going, to get warm and toasty. With a rear-mounted flue, you can cook bacon - or anything else - on the top of the stove. While still sitting on your sofa. :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14337-how-to-cook-bacon/page/3/#findComment-384046 Share on other sites
legalbeagle
All (sensible) suggestions will be tried out and I'll let you know if any work, and if I think anyone deserves a free sarnie and bottle of wine. Quote can also be used to cook fish fingers, chicken nuggets, burgers, oven chips and even salmon filletsSo why not bacon? If they work, I like Chablais :)-D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14337-how-to-cook-bacon/page/3/#findComment-384111 Share on other sites

Tarot
Dumling have you ever tried ,Country dumplings, they are really tasty. You stuff the dumplings with a mixture of minced beef , onion, tomato puree, paprika, that has been simmered in a pot previously, the dough used has got yeast in it instead of suet. It is all put on a layer of gravied vegatables then cooked in the oven, The dumplings look like cobblers, I havent cooked it , but have ate it. Good British classic. HAL9000
Well I'll be! Is this a recipe from our Tarot or a mirror universe twin that can cook? Tarot
No Hal I cheated, watched my cousin cook it, while helping to wallpaper a room. It was really tasty, so I told her to write the basics down to post it here, but Im afraid I lost the second note. I thought someone could fill the gaps in. She said she will cook hash brownies next time, But I dont know what they are. Huguenot
Brtish dumplings are one of the finest things in the universe. Savoury ones, not sweets. A good stew with dumplings.I don't really understand why they haven't caught on.The Italians have got gnocchi that are broadly similar, but their reach extends far beyond their grasp. MissDumpling
Our beef and ale stew and dumplings is certainly catching on in East Dulwich, Huguenot. It flies out from our stall on North Cross Road on Saturdays. Pop along to Mother's Dumplings to have a try! Huguenot
I'll be back in the UK in Feb, so assuming nobody sets a hired killer on me (which is entirely possible), I shall stop by to taste them! HAL9000
I was very tempted by your ale stew on Saturday but I had already spent my dinner money on a couple of roast hog baps before I got to your stall - maybe next week.
