Beware of 2 young girls knocking doors around Peckham/East Dulwich collecting money for schools in Jamaica and Ghana. They claim to be collecting on behalf of St Martins in the Fields Academy and it seemed like a lovely idea, however, I was suspicious as I thought it was very irresponsible for a school to be putting young girls in this position

Turns out they are conning people and the school were totally unaware of this scam. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY

When I confronted them they ran off but I could see from the signatures on the letter that they had already collected around ?60

School has been notified

Yeah I spoke to someone in the school today and she made it very clear that they were no longer collecting for that charity and hadn't been for a few years. Still it hasn't stopped them using the school name for their little scam, they were even still in their uniforms

I feel sorry for the people who were duped by these incredibly dishonest girls. They've actually called at my house 3 times over the last 2 weeks so have clearly been at this for a while now

It's in the hands of the school now

    • It wasn't a rumour, the salon had closed when I posted here. Regarding the Post Office, as I said go and ask them.
    • My annoyance Is with the fact that the gym is being closed for 5 weeks for refurbishment but we dont have an option to freeze our membership if the only facility we use is the gym. Apparently Peckham gym is closed at the same time for refurbishment which I think is pretty stupid. Therefore the nearest gym for all the members from ED leisure centre and Peckham leisurecentre is the one in Camberwell . I lament the everyone active days..at least I could attend gyms near to work and outside Southwark
