LostThePlot
But at ?125 a ticket I'm wondering if it's worth the 28 year wait.....Mind you at the 02, so not too much of a drama to get home....Anyone else tempted?E Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1430-i-see-led-zeppelin-are-reforming/ Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
twas mentioned in the great gigs thread as wellOn the one hand, compared to Madge and Babs recent gigs, it's not THAT bad (out of my league tho) but whether you are up for it or not is kinda moot, considering the likely demandPlus, bottom line is I agree with Keef on this one - I'm no big fan of them (heresy tho that seems to most of my friends) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1430-i-see-led-zeppelin-are-reforming/#findComment-38840 Share on other sites

Ant
They say it's the first sign, you know...I'd really like to go. But ?125 and a ballot is just too much hassle. Shame they're not doing 21 nights like the purple sex-dwarf. Like she cared if I was there..... ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1430-i-see-led-zeppelin-are-reforming/#findComment-38934 Share on other sites

*Bob*
Hmmm. Led Zep with no John Bonham. Kinda like 'The Police' without Stewart Copeland. It shouldn't be allowed. lozzyloz
Personally I think you must be nuts to go and see a band well past it's sell by date. Their heyday is well gone. They will never be able to recreate a stage performance that merits the ticket price. Better to preserve the memory rather than replace it with an enduring image of a bunch of OAP's embarrassing themselves in a final bid to raise funds to soften the impact of IHT! And yes I am a Led Zep fan and once bumped into Robert in a launderette in Primrose Hill, but that's another story! capt_birdseye
And to top it all you would have to sit through Paolo Nutini and Foreigner before the crinkly Zeps even make it on stage! capt_birdseye
I now see that the Sex Pistols are playing this year too. The most dangerous grandads in town. Is re-forming the new splitting up? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1430-i-see-led-zeppelin-are-reforming/#findComment-39548 Share on other sites
Jah Lush
I think you may have a point there Captain. There's money to be made in nostalgia. There seems to be a lot of bands reforming just to top up their bank accounts. But having said that, I'd love to see the Pistols again but it's hardly likely they'll be playing down the 100 Club or the Roxy. At least Zepplin are doing their gig for charity. I wouldn't have thought they'd need the money. capt_birdseye
You might as well go and see a Sex Pistols tribute act as they are clearly a sad pastiche of their former selves. Jah Lush
You could say the same about Led Zepplin too. You can't turn the clock back 30 years can you. Personally I'd like to see The Faces reform for a few gigs but I know that's never going to happen.
