Have to agree Nutty, although the primary schools are getting better, they are still pretty average (Dulwich Village CofE accepted) and secondary schools mmmm, yet all the articles/estate agents go on and on about this, I presume it's the private ones plus the fact that most estate agents are about 17 and have no idea about how good the actual schools are and thus a myth is born to naive planning family couples who haven't really looked at the scores.

Of course it's the sort of thing the gullible lap up. The thoughts of women cycling up and down in all their flowery organic loveliness, and rosy cheeked children playing in all the open spaces is a great way to 'talk-up' buying a poky, over priced semi on a crowded Victorian street in a minor South East London suburb, with dodgy transport links. Any reference to good schools I thought was referring to the public schools. Are there any decent state schools in London? James Allen and Dulwich College etc. But then what would I know...!

Lazy smug hacks seem to constantly big up the hood. Then again, they are hardly likely to describe the place where their 3 bed semi with 40ft garden, loft conversion, period features and GCH ( Not tested )lies, as a crime ridden crack hellhole.

This however can make refreshing change from repetitive, off the shelf articles on glamping or shitty beach huts in Whitstable that these uninspired shitehawks usually churn out.

Puzzled, I'm, um, puzzled by your response.

Reading through the thread there seems to be a mix of people saying they love it round here, people saying the article is a bit OTT and cynics suggesting it's all about property prices. The only real angst is from huncamunca and he's like that about everything. I expect eater81's post was pretty angsty and spiteful, but I didn't see it before it was deleted, so can't say for sure.

Seems a bit harsh to brand everyone as appaling and desperate...

ED is a great area there is no doubt about that and i do agree with annaj about the harshness of what was/is said but do also agree with puzzled too about it being a nice area and respect to him/her for just trying to look out for it.
