Only 4 days to go. Pleased that I have not given in as yet and should see it through. Friday could be a big night! steveo
Well apart from the night sweats, depression and hallucinations, that was fairly easy. What time do they open? maxxi
After a month of abstinence I was wondering how to sacrifice what felt like a newly acquired virginity. I didn't want any lout of a 'Brewed-under-licence-in-the-UK' lager or pushy plonk muscling in - they will have their way with me in due course. Drew a blank yesterday then tonight, as I was walking up the lane, I got seduced by a glass of hot winter cider in the Palmerston. Fine cider, spices, orange and a hint of vanilla. They are doing it 'take-away' too and I expect NorthX rd Mkt to be all the better for it tomorrow... mmmm, good to be back. ????
Which did you miss most, Booze or the EDF? :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14071-no-drink-vember/page/5/#findComment-505110 Share on other sites
maxxi
Booze. But I don't underestimate the capacity of that fine beverage to make the EDF seem a finer place... horse.. cart.. who knows. maxxi
I think he is doing his best but some things (the 'look' at Diouf, the signing of Carew) have me bemused. I think he WANTS to move on from the long ball game so he can be considered for the England job (after Harry) and sees WH as his best bet but old habits etc. The old accusations obviously irk him (which is why he bangs on about them and how it's not true any more in interviews).I do think Cole has improved and Nolan is pulling the team into shape - still think we will need a top goal scorer when we go up. maxxi
A hot cider, a cold Estrella and a room-temperature brandy are conspiring to make me believe mixing drinks is fine in moderation.... El Pibe
But it is true.I'd love to do it this month as feeling the burn (my age) a bit, but am squeezing in seeing x (event/person/place) for the last time most weekends over the next 6 weeks *wipes away a tear* so can't see it happening.Luckily I'm moving somewhere that people don't really associate alcohol with social occassions and environments..... :/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14071-no-drink-vember/page/5/#findComment-707535 Share on other sites

Last year Frankels last stand on 20th of the month and this year Silver Treasure 16th, so yes the abstinence is getting shorter, but I usually last long enough to be sober for the company doctor annual medical. I tell him I'm teetotal. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/14071-no-drink-vember/page/5/#findComment-707620 Share on other sites
