betty31
Does anyone know what's going on on Goose Green tonight - the noise from the massive truck has been going for hours!! It's a residential area - surely they aren't allowed to work through the night making so much noise? worldwiser
Hopefully they were sorting out the dangerous water leak that was starting to break up the road? Wishful thinking. kford
Will be the water leak. Best time to do it, apart from the noise. JohnL
East Dulwich Road closed, digging at Goose Green and issues at Herne Hill too (got the feeling on the 37 bus they were linked)It's worse than just a small leak. KrackersMaracas
Luckily it's warmer than it was a few weeks ago - it's breaking up the road but I did worry that in freezing temperatures we could have ended up with a nasty patch of ice. The water was running too quickly in the most part but you wouldn't want to take any chances on a roundabout. worldwiser
I sent a repair request to the council two days ago - hopefully matters were already in train but might have spurred them on, never know. Also never know whether it's Thames Water, TFL or Southwark responsible - probably part of the reason nothing happened straightaway. That pothole is hazardous to say the least and with every passing car, it gets much worse. rch
I've been regularly tweeting Thames Water updates with photographs, copying the council highway engineers in, and TW have now confirmed by Twitter that the Goose Green roundabout repairs are booked in for Thursday and the Lytcott Grove repairs (which are less urgent) are booked to be finished no later than 12/02/17.You can see the blue spray paint on the pavements indicating where the burst mains are running. James Barber
Thames Water have also explained that water leaks are up by 40%. worldwiser
The environmental team finally replied this morning with the priceless response that 'Goose Green roundabout is not in Southwark' and that I should address my enquiry to the correct borough. God help us all. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/140447-noise-at-goose-green-roundabout-through-the-night/#findComment-1099514 Share on other sites

Apparently a proposed branch of Nando's on Stamford Street, applied to Southwark for planning permission a few years back. Southwark's planning commitee granted permission with neither party realising that the site was actually located in Lambeth. When the error was discovered Nando's had to reapply, this time in the correct borough.**there's a good chance this is apocryphal Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/140447-noise-at-goose-green-roundabout-through-the-night/#findComment-1099729 Share on other sites
