Townleygreen
This is causing massive traffic jams. Anyone seen where exactly it is? Apparently it will take 3-4 weeks. Gulp! East Dulwich Angst
I think it's from the Plough up to Underhill rd, but I heard it was going to last for about 3 months. (I hope I'm wrong) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1403-water-main-works-in-lordship-lane/#findComment-38046 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
There are yellow announcement signs all along LL and have been for weeks if not monthsDoes no-one see them? No wonder people complain about council tax being wasted if the council take the time to put signs up in fluorescent yellow and still people only notice when the traffic is backed up! Townleygreen
Well Sean, the notices said they were due to start on 3/9/07. They began today, one week late. So don't go all superior on us. If they can't get the start date right, then its no surprise if people don't bother with the signs, is it? SeanMacGabhann
Superior how? They started a week late which considering the size of the works and how many other parties are likely to be affected and petitioned for it to not happen is pretty good IMOTo be honest whenever I see any notifications like that I don't pen the dates in the diary - I make a rough note of how long the period is, double it and add some bonus weeks either side to be safe. shaman
Always amazes me that they always seem to wait till after school holidays are finished to start major works when the traffic is much heavier in the mornings, did the same at easter waited holidays finished then start think planned to cause maximum chaos Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1403-water-main-works-in-lordship-lane/#findComment-38132 Share on other sites

citizenED
To be pedantic - the signs said the works were due to start on 3/9/07 - perhaps the work did start then, you know a bit of a survey first before they actually dug up the road and put the traffic control in.citizen Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1403-water-main-works-in-lordship-lane/#findComment-38433 Share on other sites
