I believe that the Brexit vote and the pro Trump support is a backlash against "the liberal elite propaganda we have pumped out of the BBC." as rendelharris quoted. Unfortunately because of the actions of Tony Crosland and his pals the working classes have been denied a decent education to enable them to compete rhetorically, and in the workplace, with the 'elite' and the voting was a result of their personal experiences and frustrations.

On Newsnight TM was allowed to actually say her speech but as soon as DT started speaking- you could see his lips moving- some idiot bloke was doing a voice over- telling us all what the BEEB wanted us to hear- not what Trump actually said- bloody fascists

And then there is what he did rather than said. Has that not worried you?

Can you give me an example of "the liberal elite propaganda we have pumped out of the BBC."

Just so I can get my eye tuned into what it's meant to look/read like.

And who exactly are the 'elite' while were at it

Is it the BBC Liberal Elite who are also Facists?

Please clarify

Thanks UG

I find this whole obsession with one leader ridiculous. We have courted some of the most dubious of world leaders for state visits in the not so distant past and very few of the 'liberal elite' even batted an eyelid. This forum was quiet, no mass hysteria. By all means hold him to account, call him up on the things he does and says, but don't set up thread after thread going over the same drivel and achieving bugger all. Its almost as offensive as the topic at hand!

Was it me or did someone say they didn't hold hands,

but Trump suffers from some disease whereby when he walks

down ramps or stairs he feels dizzy, so he grabbed the Prime

Ministerial hand to steady himself.

I just had to look that phobia up

Even funnier is, that there's a pop-up ad for a swimming pool halfway through the article

Ha ha!

    • The NYT ( that right wing alarmist rag) has reported that Iran told Qatar so they could prepare. Iran and Q are on good terms so Q won’t retaliate, esp as Iran is only targeting US bases, which everyone knew to expect.     If anything, it draws Qatar into the dialogue and Q will privately be urging Iran to back down.
    • If the Qatari's decide to retaliate then it's all going off...but I suspect the Iranians are hoping for this - one inaccurate missile and the Qatari's may have to. I think the Iranian leadership is working on fast-tracking their own demise and the Americans and Israeli's planning for regime change, maybe with the many political prisoners the Israelis tried to free from the Elvin prison today. What a mess but clearly Iran was becoming a big threat to not only Israel but many of the other Gulf States and was clearly doing scary stuff with nuclear weapons that required action.
    • I can't find any references to an attack on a British base. where do you find one?
    • Flea darts...now there's a thing from my past I had long forgotten about - goodness our ! This thread title does always bring a smile to my face as I can't help but think it suggests a campaign to prevent the removal of someone's stash!
