Hi, just wondering whether anyone can advise me on getting TV reception. I've recently moved. I cannot see a TV connection point / lead from wall. Am on a tight budget so don't really want to commit to a Sky subscription. Anyone able to advise re my options? Sorry if this is a stupid question ......

Not a stupid question at all! I use Freeview Play which needs an internal or, ideally, an external aerial. In my old place I had Freesat with a dish, but sadly there are too many trees here. Freeview Play/Freesat entail the initial expense for the box and dish (for freesat) but after that there is no subscription. Have a look at the websites to see if either might suit you www.freeview.co.uk & http://www.freesat.co.uk/.


I'm afraid that is the limit of my knowledge. I did vaguely look at subscription services, but I have been very happy with these two over the years.


I'm sure others will also have some good advice.

Yes, being so close to the Crystal Palace transmitter you may well, given a goodish set and location, be able to get by with a small indoor aerial for all freeview radio and TV. I've just tried a bargain-shop 2 metre fly lead instead of my aerial, and even that on its own is able to pick up many channels.       Deptford Green and Elm Green anecdotally have a more realistic and compassionate to kids differing needs. Whether that is still the case i'm not sure. Having 3 boys at Charter i would seriously consider a boys school if you have them, Charter East really aren't geared up for the different educational needs of some boys and the challenging behaviour this frustration leads to. I have heard amazing things about St Thomas the Apostle boys school.

      Thanks everyone for the great recommendations! I wouldn't normally go for vegan restaurants, but I've been to En Root and really liked it. Fresh and tasty.  The Ritzy Cinema in Brixton also sell their food, to eat in their cafe before or after a film (I don't think they sell the whole menu that you'd find in Peckham, but there is a good choice)
