Beginners Tap - Thursdays 1:30-2:30 pm at the Thomas Carlton Centre, Alpha Street, SE15 4NX

10 week course starting Thurs 19th Jan - ?40 (?20 concession)

--------------------------------------------------------

Hi all. I just wanted to let you know that there's a great beginners tap class running in Peckham on Thursday afternoons. It's a really friendly class with a lovely teacher (I'm a student). It's perfect for complete beginners or those who want to refresh their skills after a break. It's a really fun way to get fit and a great stress reliever (even if you're not a natural dancer like myself!)

A full course which runs for 10 weeks (with a break for half term) costs ?40, so that's just ?4 a class!

To enrol, please contact the Thomas Carlton Centre / 0207 358 2100 / [email protected]

    • That seems really odd. Was it really after just one complaint to the council? Do the council have a say in the cinema's policies? You would think that if the Picture House agreed that this change in policy was reasonable, they would apply it to all their cinemas. What is the upper age of the children at the baby friendly showings, or is one not specified? I'm not sure how I feel about the actual policy, I'm just surprised about why and how it has apparently been so suddenly implemented.
    • There’s another one in Brixton open 24 seven I don’t think the insurance thing can be a problem
    • The staff in there told me about today, as I went in the ask what happened to the schedule. They don’t have anything official written up.  please feel to email them inquiring about the issue and or complain.  [email protected]   customerservice[at]picturehouses.co.uk I for one was really looking forward to seeing some films in the coming months.
    • I was about to post the very same thing!   Good points, and I wonder how  these issues are resolved in the skate park in Peckham Rye park? The park has closing times when the gates are supposed to be locked, but in practice they don't always seem to be locked when they should be. I don't know why - possibly staff absence? There is also a skate park on the South Bank - I wonder how  the insurance and/or safety issues are addressed here. Presumably the place is open for skating 24/7,  as there wouldn't seem to be any way to close it?
