DiD
There's a dead fox outside the scout's hut on the pavement on Bellenden rd, and its been there all day. I (and I think several others) contacted the council and they said it would be removed in 4 hours (including on weekends) but its still there, with blood all over the pavement. I suppose it will stay there all night now. Quite distressing. I contacted a local animal charity and they said it was the council's job. I'm not asking for suggestions, just grumbling about Southwark. Green Goose
Why moan about Southwark? They don't do road cleansing 24/7. It's only road-kill and no big deal. If it bothers you that much why dont you uput it in a bin bag then tip it in your brown bin.DiD Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> There's a dead fox outside the scout's hut on the> pavement on Bellenden rd, and its been there all> day. DiD
A) its hugeb) there is a lot of bloodc) On their website, when I reported it(11am this morning) they sent a reply to say they will clear it within 4 hours -- they do this 7 days a week, as long as its reported between 9 and 5. If they had said "we don't do this stuff on weekends, cutbacks, etc...sorry"...then that would be fine. But they didn't. hammerman
Difficult one and depends on how squeamish you and others are but I would have been out there tonight if it was where I live.If it had been a cat or a dog I'm sure something would have been done by now. Mands
Was it a road traffic accident? Just asking as there is that cat killer that goes around killing cats & foxes. Green Goose
Mands Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Was it a road traffic accident? Just asking as> there is that cat killer that goes around killing> cats & foxes. What evidence do you have that there is a "cat killer" around who also kills foxes? Even if there is a "cat killer" around then it is highly unlikely that a fox would become a victim. They are very wary, very intelligent and fast. Penguin68
What evidence do you have that there is a "cat killer" around who also kills foxes?Try reading the forum. Quite a lot of evidence - for cats and foxes. These may well be either trapped or take poisoned bait. The details are not, I think, made public.http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1636757 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/137532-dead-fox-on-bellenden-road-no-action-from-council/#findComment-1090433 Share on other sites
jacks09
Green Goose, its actually a hugely distressing set of incidents with a ton of evidence.SNARL are coordinating responses. DiD
Mands, no idea, as I didn't want to get close enough to tell (I'm quite squeamish). He's in an odd position for a traffic accident, and there is blood pouring out of what looks like his mouth....but I gather the cat killer mutilates and there are no mutilations that are obvious. Though as I said, I didn't want to get too close! this is the other reason I thought the council should collect it, though, to see if there were any links to the cat killer. singalto
Green Goose, there has been a lot about the cat killer also killing foxes on the EDF so Mands point is absolutely valid. Mands
Thank you Singalto. My question was simply to find out whether or not to contact Snarl if it was not a RTA. singalto
Has the fox finally been collected? If not, SNARL might well be interested, Mands..
