The New Year heralds the introduction of an additional rollover cash jackpot at the Plough's Quiz that's open to all teams - whether they come first or last in the quiz. Come and try your luck...

This friendly general knowledge and picture quiz is only ?2 per person to enter and there's a chance to win one of two cash prizes or a lovely bottle of house wine if you come second-to-last. There's bonus drinks, sweets and cookies to win too. It's an 8 for 8.30pm start in the left-hand-side bar as you walk into the front of the pub.   Who is signing the petition? If they are real people, entitled to vote in the UK, guess what? Mainly Tory and Reform voters. Not really a surprise. And the opposition have not done themselves any favours with the new leader and others signing it. Move on, and come back in four years when we have the next GE.

  How would you have phrased the letter then? And what are these services they provide that "people pay for in droves that commercially justify keeping it open"? If keeping it open was commercially justified, then presumably they wouldn't be considering closing it. Have I misunderstood you?

  Non-tribal? James was an excellent councillor, but he was Lib Dem. Is that not "tribal", then? And what are your reasons for thinking the "Labour incumbents" are not sensible or committed? And what on earth has any of that got to do with locks?!
