Strawbs
Hi all, for medical reasons it looks like my eldest son will need to be circumcised. We are having regular appointments with a private urologist to see if it will resolve on its own (with a bit of help) but it isn't and the process is traumatising him so I am likely to have to make a decision tomorrow.Does anyone have any experience of this and what the (I imagine horrid) recovery would be like for him?thanksxx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/135808-circumcision-in-an-older-child-5-years/ Share on other sites
esme
The older the longer the recovery but if he's in pain and discomfort with repeat UTIs for example it'll be a necessary evil by the sound of it and likely worth it in the long run.Good luck, try not to worry! Strawbs
Thank you for your message (and for the pms from others), we had another session today and he was so upset by it I have asked for a break for a month to really think about our options. It is not something I want to rush in to but the consultant has said that he is one of the more complicated cases he has seen and it took quite a lot for me to actually get him to the appointment as he knew what was coming so I am starting to think it may be better for him in the long run but going to take the Xmas break to think it over. Thanks again and merry Xmas all xx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/135808-circumcision-in-an-older-child-5-years/#findComment-1085777 Share on other sites
