okay not the most exciting of subjects, but does anyone have any secrets on how to get food stains out of baby's clothes? orange stains seem to be the hardest!!

sunlight!!!!

soak overnight, wash in bio liquid and vanish then leave outside in the light. Magic for tomato/carrot etc

How about mud? Esp on cord baby blue trousers....(yeah I know stupic colour for an 18 month old boy...)...

I second the sunlight tip, I found this accidentally during the summer months when I was using the washing line more.

Vanish-or a scrubbing brush, washing soap and elbow grease.

mud, allow to dry, remove as much as possible with a brush

rub vanish liquid and bio liquid into both sides

leave for an hour then wash cool in vanish and bio

Vanish spray on stain as soon as possible to pretreat the stain then wash as usual in bio detergent. Usually does the trick for us. Although some pesky stains need another round and just as long as the fabric doesn't dry or get ironed, it works the second time.

I am having a nightmare with the battle of the stains! When I collected my son from school yesterday his white polo top looked like an advert for DAZ seriously i have no idea how he gets so dirty? yesterday for instance he had raspberry juice, felt tip, paint, chocolate and for good luck a grass stain....the amount of money I spend on vanish and other such products I think it cheaper to buy new tops!

thing is were not getting so much sun as we used to now? but there is probably some truth behind that!

funnily enough i noticed vanish got a telling off on bbc watchdog last night for making false claims on stain removal products and they dont work

I find they do work if you soak esp overnight

but not enough for tomato

need light forthat

daylight is ok, doesn't hvae to be bright sun

just lie it flat while wet

I use the Shout spray for lots of stains prior to washing and find it very good.

if it is a white cotton top or mixed cotton/polyester then you would try soaking in a weak bleach solution overnight. also wash at 60 degrees.
