You may have watched the 'highlights' Mick. I watched it all.

Which would appear to be somewhat more than you.

I watched it all too - I'm suggesting you might need to watch the highlights as you took so little in first time round.

What I saw was Rory make the biride on 17 this morning that put them in position to get the half match which they got - His partner said he was "immense" in the post match interview - you may know better. In the afternoon he made a number of clinch putts to keep the irish pair in the match in the afternoon - unfortunatley they lost on the 18th to a very strong performance from Cink and Kucher. The Cink putt from distance on 17 changed that game. Rory and Graeme went out again and are already 3up overnight and I expect them to win this point in the morning. Can't argue with that performance.

As for Harrington, Fisher paid tribute to him after the round - He put the ball near enough to the hole for Fisher to hole the putts and also read the lines for Fisher. He more than justified his selection. He had a poor first game with Donald but that was early this morning and for the rest of the day he was fantastic. He will have 2 points from 3 by the time we sit down for our lunch tomorrow.

Westwood, Fisher, Donald were excellent today.

Young McIlroy is still a work in progress after a number of errors at crucial moments. The 21-year-old had his moments, but missed a short putt for a half on 17 and leaked his pitching wedge approach into the right greenside bunker on 18, after finding the water with his second on the same hole earlier in the day to leave his partner under pressure.

This is from The BBC sports website. GMc was hardly going to describe his partner as crap was he? Is that 3 up and 4 to play?

Just heard a rule I didn't know. As it's going to have to finish tomorrow,if there are any unfinished singles at 18.43 they will count as a half. Could lead to some slow play if the time becomes an element.

I think that quote is only stating the obvious Declan - you have to look at the whole of play yesterday to put his performace in perspective. Thats why I went to the bother of setting it out.

If he wins his 3 up game today he will have 1.5 points from 3 and his singles will then dictate whether he is a net winner - which would definatley be a good ryder cup debut.

Good luck to him, setting aside the approach to the 18th, he has dealt with the pressure well for someone so young.

Europe to win at least 4-2 today and take it even or a small lead into the singles.

The Overton and Bubba Watson celebration after holing from the fairway at the 8th was hilarious at the time and even funnier when Peter Allis and Ken Brown got to have their say on it in the highlights. Really funny.

Great day for Europe today though, possibly their best ever day in Ryder Cup.

Monty has front loaded the sibgles draw to get the job done early tomorrow and Harrington and McDowell as anchormen just in case.

    • Just wanted to let you all know that Dulwich Antiques is serving free takeaway coffee (Old Spike), tea and hot chocolate all day every Sunday. We’re open today till 5pm.  Dulwich Antiques, 3 Upland Road. Hopefully see you there! Rachel & Conrad
    • But is it the Village councillors who are maintaining the board, or someone else? When the boards in East Dulwich were installed, it wasn't the councillors who kept the information up to date, it was Monica from Health Matters, who was greatly involved in various  community matters (eg the building of the community garden at what was then Dulwich Hospital). I can't remember if it was her who initiated the installation of the boards in the first place. She no longer lives in East Dulwich, and nobody else appears to be willing to liaise with the councillors and community related organisations  to take this on for the various East Dulwich boards.  It would hardly take much effort. Basic information doesn't frequently change (and no, I'm not volunteering. I am overstretched as it is). It's all very well to  get a physical  community notice board spruced up, but not much use if it then isn't being used for its intended purpose. And I can't see that it is part of a councillor's job to update notice boards which they didn't initiate in the first place. I'm sure they have more than enough to do.  The notice boards serve (or did do) a useful service, but all the information which could be put on them is surely available elsewhere. (Unless it is bringing to people's attention things which are of use/interest to them and they weren't aware they needed/would like, or didn't know how else to find the information). ETA: Oh. I've just read the beginning of this thread. I'd forgotten how it started. It's gone well off topic, hasn't it. Probably just as well, reading the OP.
    • The board in the Village (just near the pub) is in pristine condition, full of council-related information (though someone had stuck a flyer on the glass, now removed). Maybe the councillors there actually CBA to make use of a facility that took time, effort and taxpayers’ money to instal?
