Notice Keef hasn't posted on here...

I think he might be sulking because Mockney implied that they were both into tiddy bars on the other thread..

I wasn't going to mention it but I saw his 'Camberwell *shudders*' comment on the West Dulwich Forum thread.

Keef? What's the plan? Where's the invite?

Ha ha ;)

As it goes, my local pub was the lovely Blue Bell on tobeckersplein in Amsterdam when I used to live there. We only drank there, none of your lapdancing stuff, the girls were great and we were really good friends by the time I was recalled back to London; the going away party was something to behold!!

I've never really been partial to the UK equivalent, the down-at-heel bars in shoreditch are honest but somewhat grubby, and the 'posh' lapdancing places are weirdly unsettling, unpleasant and horribly expensive and I avoid them at all costs.

Clare, I'd be lying if I said I didn't appreciate a beautiful female form, but the whole lapdancing thing is rather sleazy, true enough.

Why is it part of the stag do tradition? Not sure really, probably grew out of the whole 'ironic' loaded lad culture and never really went; witness the likes of sarah cox through to Christina Aguilera at it to out-lad the lads.

Fair assessment.

I think what girls like Claire want to know is whether they should be worried if their man goes to lapdancing bars.

The answer to that is almost certainly not. He's not going to run off with a stripper.

The only reason to worry would be that as Mockney mentioned they are incredibly expensive and he might waste your wedding fund on a girl who pretends to like him but actually thinks he's a dopey tw@t and only really likes cocaine and designer handbags...

Men like looking at nekkid ladies (or nekkid men depending on their preference). Much has and can be said about this but it is a universal truth which cannot be avoided. There is a certain instinctual appreciation for the female form that has something to do with endorphins. Regardless of the fact that this has always been common knowledge the people in white coats have gone ahead and studied it and found that it is generally peculiar to the male of the species. (According to an article I recently read on the BBC website so it must be true)

Personally I?ve never been a big fan of the lap dancing thing. I?m perfectly happy if they just bring me beer.

Soz Alan, only just got round to this thread.

I've actually never been to a strip / lapdancing club in this country. Only been to the one in Lithuania on the stag that I mentioned on the other thread. Girls were lovely, but to be honest it's not really my thing. I like a good looking woman as much as the next bloke, but would rather be at a cheesey club getting p!ssed with my mates, and maybe chatting to some of the local ladies... Better that than sitting on my hands watching girls that are picked to make you realise that they are what you want, and that you will never have them!

As for Oxford, it is indeed a mixed bag, not all posh! I know some people from there, and my friend's sister lives in an area that probably gets more muggings than Peckham, Brixton, or indeed Camberwell.

As for my stag, want a mix of chilling on the boat drinking and smoking (heh heh), sitting in country pub eating and drinking, and getting totally lashed in town! :)-D

Agreed though I thought it was traditionally on the Thursday before a Saturday wedding.

I do think that if people have to get married (there are still significant tax breaks) then they should have a stag NIGHT just before to mark the occasion but minimise the inconvenience.

I'm having 3 depending on how you look at it... This weekend, then a night in London a fortnight beofre for those who couldn't make this weekend. Then the night before, a nice low key boys night of drinking and chatting til the early hours, then a good kip, fry up, dutch courage, get wed. Sorted... :-S

At least they are usually complimentary. The only thread with my name in the title was about me begging outside the buckle to buy bottleg monster munch. Not pretty.

All very sedate :-S

See HERE and HERE for some pics. Oh, and if ever you find yourself on a boat with Fear N' Boozin, make sure he's drunk if he wants to drive, as he seems okay that way. Sober he'll hit every tree going!
