Maybe a separate solution isrequired for London and the rest of the country. JohnL
Law and Policy (twitter) "If Chewbacca lives on Endor, then this court must allow the appeal on Article 50"He doesn't of course, it's an attempt to confuse :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/133985-justice-and-politics-against-democracy/page/2/#findComment-1081160 Share on other sites
Shaggy
The Supreme Court judges won't be giving a verdict. They will, however, probably hand down eleven judgments. jaywalker
Probably only two - there will be a dissenting judgement almost for sure I'd think. But you can't stand too much alone on such things: there have to be recognition principles for what you say. I wonder if the Welsh government's gambit might cause a surprise? As a child I could understand and support it :-), also very much the argument from the ex-pat QC that OF COURSE their rights are on the line and not to be over-ruled by our dire PM.Wonderful institution and great people. Man of the match was Lord Pannick (by a country mile). I do fear for the Attorney General when it comes to selection for subsequent matches. malumbu
Why all the ranting when there seems to have been an injection of common sense in recent times? My simplistic assumptions on many parts of the country who benefited from EU support, or had the low levels of immigration seem to be countered by those, well at least one on this forum, who has awarded them hero status, whilst tarring most of us in London as champagne socialists. Its still all poo I hasten to add, but I have to grab the odd crumb of comfort. Right back under by duvet.By the way ranting refers to those who are so angry about recent events, rather than us whingers/moaners. malumbu
Thinking more of this. As a pragmatist less developed parts of the country doing well out of the EU irrespective of a democratic deficit is a good thing. Noting that much of the above is infrastructure or supporting business thay may not instinctively appeal to the masses. Great to have a more considered view. ????
Of course given we were (are) a net-contributor to the EU, then we were getting just some of our money back to be spent on what 'bureaucrats' in the EU decided needed spending on rather than us closer to home :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/133985-justice-and-politics-against-democracy/page/2/#findComment-1081516 Share on other sites
Alan Medic
Isn't spending here dictated by where it's going to win votes?
