A friend with a farm lost 70 ducks and hens to foxes in one year, a large loss for a small-holder farmer

so he traps them with baited traps (with the drop down flap door at one end) and then shoots them.

Another friend had trouble with grey squirrels, he trapped them and then released them in the country which he later

discovered was illegal, so he bought an airgun and now shoots them when trapped.

I would also be in favour of magpies being culled as they attack and rob nests of the songbirds, but as the role of game-keepers reduces their numbers are no longer kept in check.

I'm not convinced that the author of this thread has started this as a genuine thought provoking thread but as some kind of joke in very poor taste. If we are going to cull creatures on the bais of the harm they cause, then how a cull of motorists, smokers, drinkers, drug dealers, thiieves, murdersn all of whom have a detrimental impact on society
I recall a man in Camberwell some years ago, who trapped a fox using an automatic trap. A neighbour called us because he had left the fox in the trap for 3 days !!!!! That was downright cruel, the poor thing wasnt even covered over and caused himself countless injuries trying to get out. Why don't you seek advice from either the Fox Project or Fox Welfare.
I suppose because, fox hunting is banned this is the side effect of all this foxes can be a nuisances but I am not sure what is the solution to the problem is there any poison for spiders I have a problem with the big black hairy type you find in your house I had a few false widows I had to squash hate the little fuckers (6)

I would have thought "supermarket isles" nicely describes most towns in London's commuter belt.

Much as i think Pearson is jrussel in disguise, there is a serious truth in that they are a pest that piss and shit all over our estate where young children play, and are a health hazard that no one seems in any great rush to do anything about.

Perhaps there's a gap in the market for a legal, humane(ish) non toxic product for doing away with the blighters, they're not even cute any more, mangy 'orrible things. Any inventors out there with a good idea?

Does the Hunting Act 2004 stop me killing foxes?

No: it is perfectly legal to kill foxes, although there are a few restrictions on the ways you can do this. It is, for instance, illegal to lay poisons for foxes, and of course it is illegal to hunt them with packs of hounds.

Bugger - I'd just invested in a pack of hounds.

Now that's funny

Talking of getting rid of the dead carcass (sorry tautology), i found a dead one in our back garden - it was as stiff as a board so when i put it in the wheelie bin its tail (sorry brush) was sticking out the top - they're longer than you think! Anyway bin men didn't bat an eyelid and off it went to landfill!!

I am sure this sentiment has already been covered but I just really want to chuck my two cents in here.

Pearson- your argument is messy and thoughtless. You are wrong. You are clearly a very arrogant and terrible c***

I hope you continue to be plagued by not only fox, but every manner of shit known to man.

My word, some classy posts here!

It?s a shame some people can only revert to expletives in order to express themselves.

Or maybe those such as rinsted don?t have exams to revise for right now?

So what exactly is the problem with my actions...

We control all number of animals. We eat all number of animals, so I must assume it?s not that?

This can only lead me to the conclusion that it is the potential risk to ....cats?

Do not think that I haven?t considered this fully by taking all precautions available/necessary in order to avoid such an occurrence.

Please continue.....

When needs must.

Not really sure what you were getting at with the exams quip...

True 'we' do control and kill all manner of animals and I can understand killing off animals that cause real risk of disease or harm if it is done as humanely as possible. But foxes don't, in my opinion (and I should imagine it is an opinion shared by anyone with anything above a very base moral standard), cause enough of a risk to be killed at will. To kill an animal for shitting and mucking about with bins is obviously barbaric and meat headed.

This aside the way that you have approached what is to me, and I should imagine many others, a serious topic so obnoxiously and arrogantly sickens me.

If it is ok for you to kill something for 'shitting' I bloody well hope someone gives you a clump for the massive steamers that are coming out of your mouth.

Of course i'm aware of this thank you.

I'm can assure you more than half the users of this

forum break the law in some (apparently) small way

every day yet don't give it moments thought.

I don't see this as being any different, sorry.

The law needs changing in my opinion.

Can you give an axample of a single poster that has posted in any way that shows they knowingly break the law?

By your reasoning because someone else breaks the law you should be able to as well.....

You are beraking the law and you've been dumb enough to tell everyone about it in a forum. A previous poster has reported you to the RSPACA who may well now use the law to ask the forum for info (you email address) so they can trace your IP to your address and then prosecute you......well done schmuck.

    • Maybe I'm behind the times, but in the old days if you went to a pub for charity fundraiser you'd have a quiz or karaoke and you'd be chipping in for a new scanner at your local hospital or maybe sending some poor kiddie for some cancer treatment abroad. Nowadays you can roll down to the Old Nun's head in Nunhead and tip your money into a bucket for some sad young woman to go a private surgeon and have her breasts sliced off -  as if that was going to be some kind of life-saving treatment!  Not only that, she's publicising her Valentine's crowdfunder with a funny ha ha (not) cartoon of a girl (see pic) with a hypodermic in her bum and calling it 'Valen-Tits-off'. Jesus wept. Whatever happened to hearts and flowers? It's so unbelievably sick. I'm a woman, I've pretty much still got all the woman-bits intact. Periods and puberty weren't much fun, I was bullied at school, wondered about my sexuality and boys and spots and the rest of it, got called a lezzer by the class cow, but I got through it. And I would no more think that cutting bits off a girl was the solution to her misery than I would put my teenage daughter on a diet if she was diagnosed with anorexia. I can't be the only person who finds the pub - and its publicity material - very VERY offensive?
    • I know you asked for recommendations, but I have lots of families who would happily give a glowing reference for my tutoring.  Will DM you.
    • There's Gather  in Bellenden Road. And doesn't the Turkish (?) shop sell no packaging things? I'm sure it used to at one point. Maybe it stopped.
    • If nobody on here knows, I will ask at a DIY shop. I already googled, but most of the solutions aren't feasible for me, I don't think.
