giggirl
I saw Kraftwerk last night at Tate Modern. I'm not the biggest fan ever but they mark a certain period of my life with one particular boyfriend so it was a walk down memory lane. Extremely chilled out gig. Very impressed with Tate organisation (yes the ticket on-sale was a fiasco but they were good last night). They could have shoe-horned a couple more hundred people in there but they didn't; everyone had space to move so that was nice. Anyway, I just wanted to post to let people know that they have returned tickets. There is a dedicated returns queue at the Tate and they are letting people in from the queue. I'm not sure how many people get in but I guess if anyone is interested they could phone the Tate Modern and ask. red devil
Some info on how to buy returned tickets...http://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/music-and-live-performance/kraftwerk-catalogue-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1326-great-gigs/page/33/#findComment-615009 Share on other sites
giggirl
Thanks Red Devil - why didn't I think of that.I wouldn't have turned up without a ticket given the fiasco of the on-sale, so I was surprised to see people turning up on spec. My feeling is that so long as the queues remain smallish that everyone who queues will get in. Very chilled. Tate Modern should do more stuff like that. maxxi
The B52s are playing the O2 in August - I know they're a bit past it (really?) and I should probably stay away and be happy with memories but... I think i may be tempted... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1326-great-gigs/page/33/#findComment-615221 Share on other sites

RosieH
Desasparecidos were immense and awesome last night at the Electric Ballroom, and Conor Oberst flying solo last week at the Barbican was a force of nature. He's possessed of a ferocity that one man and his acoustic guitar shouldn't humanly have, and wit and beauty by the bucketload. The man's amazing, and seeing him twice in the space of a week is a rare treat. I'm knackered, but very happy this morning. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1326-great-gigs/page/33/#findComment-615798 Share on other sites

david_carnell
Ooh, I'm a Bright Eyes fan but hadn't seen that advertised. I like the Barbican for grown up gigs too. Glad he was on form as he has a reputation for being a bit.....mercurial. Mick Mac
Went to see Bruce at Hard Rock calling yesterday. Great gig but he did the whole album of Born in the USA - apparently he does this nowadays, picks an album and plays the whole thing in the middle of the gig. As albums go, I would have preferred Born to Run by a country mile, but My Hometown and Dancing in the Dark were crowd pleasers and he did Jungleland near the end, which is always good. Disappointingly , he did not do Thunder Road, Racing in the Streets or Rosalita - booo. Black Crowes were good as support. Applespider
Was at HRC too and Bruce was amazing - nearly 30 songs in just over 3 hours. It was a strange end finishing with My Lucky Day - I was expecting Thunder Road too. Born to Run was amazing though as was the Born in the USA album. Lovely to see him dancing with his Mum in Dancing in the Dark... awwwww! I thought the sound was better for the Black Crowes than it was for Bruce... definitely seem a little off at times. Otta
I thought the sound was shocking, but not helped by the wind.Bruce has won me over though, quality geezer. Otta
Sound in an ibdoor venue SHOULD be good Sound outdoors just has too many variables. Love outdoor concerts where you can drink and smoke though, the atmosphere is always so cool.
