Princess Anne recently made overtures to the fashion industry by having some of her designer tops remodelled which drew sneers from the press, I rather admired her not throwing out her old stuff, and getting them revamped.

Good for you Annie, I am not a royalist but she gets more points from me than all her idiotic brothers.

Ratty brands and incoherent English. Such a good look.

"Yep, it's a myth that the Italians are stylish. Crap leather jackets, tracksuits, ponytails, and stupid pointy shoes can be observed in abundance along the full length of the country."

Yes but none of them (Italians) would wear a short sleeve shirt paired with a tie, chinos and cornish pasty shoes like many of my British work mates.

The Italians' main downfall is a sheep-like adherence to designer labels - think fake Moncler jacket and YSL handbag (both girls and boys) - and they have ruined the British icon that was Belstaff (which is now Italian owned) by recreating the classic Trialmaster jacket in nylon. Che barba!!

You sound graet, sew brag on

W**F

Hehehe, I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed Captain Scarlett's interesting choice of labels..

Btw Captain Scarlett, I used to work in the buying office of Armani and you might as well be buying George Armani given that they make all their clothes in China, with the odd stitch done in Italy so they can sell you a suit for a ?1000. More fool you I say.

I couldn't give a stuff what other people wear, it's up to the individual to find things that they feel comfortable and good in. I've seen many a non fatty wearing tracksuits.

Lol......The Grammer police!.....

Really chaps n lasses!....I gather you must be the track suit brigade....so defensive!....or fat?

or skinny pretending they are fit?

>:D<

I'm sorry but the 'George Amani' and 'Bennaton' does it for me because you seem to be making a point that you're somehow better than others because you choose labels over tracksuits..but you can't even get the labels' spellings right! (that deserved an exclamation point).

If your argument was about quality or style choices then you could have chosen to highlight these rather than the labels you buy into. To me this says far more to me about you than anyone who wears a tracksuit.

The above posters summed it up in their quotes from The Devil Wears Prada- there is no industry more commercial than the fashion industry and although I like clothes, being a slave to fashion trends and brands just make me think of sheep buying into a massive marketing spin. But then of course, that's what the industry wants! Enjoy your Timberland boots!

    • Our cat Booboo has been missing since early Sunday morning (09 March).   He's a three-year-old male cat with black fur (short).    He's recognisable from having very big feet - I think about two extra toes on each paw.   He's very nervous of strangers and doesn't go out the front of our house - he mainly hangs out in the back gardens on our block (Goodrich/Barry/Friern Road).   If you spot him please let us know (07771915355).

    • That's useful, thank you - I've got a Primark near my work. Primark is (perhaps surprisingly) also one of the most diligent when it comes to labour rights in the supply chain, and I have to say the bits I've had from there have been quite good quality and lasted a long time. But otoh it's still fast fashion I suppose.
