There was a great thread on this a year ago or maybe two - I can't find. I bought Christmas in Exeter St as a result of somebody's recommendation (thank you whoever it was) and it's lovely. I also like The Polar Express.

Morpurgo's Christmas stories are great.

This year, we're reading a Boy Called Christmas and Winter Magic, which is a collection of short stories.

Also second Christmas on Exeter Street.

Finally, I noticed today that Chener Books has a lovely Christmas window. Well worth having a look there.

The Christmas Bear by Axel Scheffler - toddler to say 6yrs or so

The Snowman and Father Christmas by Raymond Briggs (of course!)

Thanks for the link to the old thread Bellenden Belle - a great reminder. We're still loving Christmas on Exeter Street and my youngest should be ready for that one this year too. I think I may have to dig our Christmas books out later today...

You're welcome Knomester - I got Christmas on Exeter Street out of the library today.

This thread has inspired me to wrap 24 christmas books as an advent calender alternative. A mixture of favourites we already have, books borrowed from the library, and some newly bought, I am ridiculously excited at the prospect!

In fact the whole series is wonderful and not religious considering it's set in a church
