book problems !

I am having a clear out of my daughters room and have found myself inundated with BOOKS,BOOKS and more BOOKS ! Ones that will never be read again.....Really do not want to just throw out,anyone have any ideas what to do with them ?

dulwich library takes books sometimes, but they get a bit inundated they tell me!

st christophers charity shop on lordship lane has a kids book section so they would take them (you might want to ring though before you take them to make sure they are taking donations that day as they get full up too).

You could always just put them out the front of your house in a box with a note saying help yourself. I've got rid of loads of books this way when the charity shop wouldn't take them. Of course, it has to be on a day when it isn't going to rain!

Search for rgutsell on the forum - he collects books and redistributes them round schools, doctors surgeries, hospitals etc - has taken loads off our hands int he past.

Yes, was also going to suggest Children's A&E. After receiving some excellent care from nurses and doctors there last night, has prompted me to pack some of my son's old books up and take along at the weekend.

Does your daughter's school have a book stall at its Christmas fair? (Heber does, btw)

Or is it doing a school jumble sale this term? If you can bear to hang on to them till then, you could donate them to that, then your daughter will, in a round about way, benefit too.

Another option is to drop them off at the Oxfam book shop in Herne Hill.
