Jaysaw
I see that these schools take pupils at 4+, 7+ and 11+, and that the size of the intakes/number of applicants at each level varies. My question is whether it is typical to, say, apply at 4+ and then try again at 7+ and/or 11+ if unsuccessful? Aside from putting the poor little mites through the assessment ordeal repeatedly (!) is there a reason why you wouldn't just give it a go at each level? In other words, does anyone know/have experience of whether it prejudices them if your child has already been ?rejected? before (even if it was at 4 years old)?! And does anyone have a crystal ball I could borrow?? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/132325-re-applying-for-japs-and-alleyns/ Share on other sites
Bobarella
I can only speak from my own experience but my child had an unsuccessful 4+ but a successful 7+ for one of the local schools. The assessment criteria changes at each age band so no reason why a child can't pass at a later stage. enjoy
Daughter didn't pass at 4+, sat all tests for upcoming places, never got in.Finally she got a place 11+.We declined but that had nothing to do with her exam history.Good luck! LSB
My daughter didn't get into Alleyn's at 4+ but did at 7+ for what it's worth. Good luck!
