I am offering a furnished double room available in a large peaceful ground floor garden flat in East Dulwich, a short walk from Lordship Lane, Peckham Rye and Dulwich parks with permit free car parking and a short journey to train stations and bus links. Room has a private entrance onto a large garden and shared use of bathroom, kitchen and living room and outdoor space. Room is a good size and includes double bed, wardrobe, drawers and other storage.

I'm a laid back 36 year old professional designer, and have my own life, but wou

ld be more than happy to share the odd cuppa or glass of wine. It's definitely not a party house, but is a great place to escape after a busy day in the city. I live alone with my small dog Hugo who is well behaved and shouldn't be too much bother

Once or twice a month my children may stay over for a night at the weekend, but I try and spend as much of the day out the flat with them and they will be in my room at night. They are 4yrs and 9yrs old. You will need to be comfortable with this arrangement, but I promise it wont't inconvenience you or your plans.

The room will be ?750pm including bills (?850 Couples). There will be a reference check upfront and 1 months deposit. Initial contract is for 6 months but happy to extend if all goes well. If this sound interesting or if you want to ask any questions, or discuss a different arrangement, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hello

If the room is still available, I am extremely interested. I've lived on Upland Road close by for years and I am temporarily in my brother's spare room until I find a new home. Basically, I love this area and i am desperate to stay in it.

I'm 38 and manage bookshops. I am laid back and really just want to find somewhere I can relax and feel like I am not in London anymore!

I have absolutely no problem with children, I have two nephews who are 5 and 7 and they are great. I also work every other weekend anyway(the joys of retail) so I would be out of the way.

I absolutely adore dogs which just makes the room more desirable.

Pplease let me know if the room is still available as I can pop round to say hello pretty much anytime.

Thanks

David

    • How can a supermarket "run out of gas"? Was that a joke? The Metro article is referring to the central gas supply, surely? Which hasn't actually run out yet.   I said "local" press. And the reason would be that the bad publicity might push Sainsbury's head office to improve what sound like presently appalling conditions for their DKH staff to work in. Yes of course there are terrible things happening all over the world. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to change things which we might be able to have an immediate impact on locally.
    • What good would it do reporting it to the press? If one thinks it is a major issue, just for a moment, think about the hardship in cities in Ukraine where residents  are lucky to get one hour of electricity a day and where water is not being pumped to residential blocks.
