Are all Booster Seats created equal??????

Hello,

Any advice gratefully received.....

I am looking to buy a booster seat for my 20kg 3 and a half year old.. It is not going to be his main seat at the moment but will go in our other car which we will use a couple of times a week to go to and from nursery until he is 4 when he will have to give up his current seat to his baby sister..

However, looking around I am now a bit confused by what I should be looking for as they all look similar but the prices seem to vary from ?30 to in excess of ?100.. My gut instinct is to just buy a Maxi Cosi one as that is what all our previous car seats have been but this seems a bit shortsighted really...

Can anyone tell me what I should be looking out for or recommend any excellent seats...

A high backed booster with side protection is much safer than just a seat.

thanks, was planning on getting the high back version rather than just the cushion.... so many versions though...

Halfords had a sale on their booster seats recently - I picked up one which was reduced from ?120 to ?50 - high backed, side impact cushion, 3-recline position and drinks holders (of course).
