Again I must apology. My partner, for she was with me on that happy trip, has just pointed out that your soubriquet (ArtFul Dogger) doesn't sound so well when the speaker (me) has chronic spoonerism complex. So i thank you for your cheery rejoinder and say back to you in your tongue, "Sikkafa!"

Sullied and shamefaced.

Good god...

NOT the "special" kebab sauce

I felt so guilty last time

W**F

I recall a while back stopping there at an ungodly hour three or more sheets TTW when and elderly chap at the top of the stairs offered me a drink while I waited for my chicken 'bab (he might have been the owner).

Any way I had a slate roof and probably enjoyed it.

Decent of him I thought.

Oi

You leave my crystal balls out of this young lady !!!

besides 4am is far too early to be up the back of a police station (or up the back of any thing to be honest)

Now 4am is a perfect time to visit Club 56 on Peckham High Street for the coolest French-Ghanian sounds around... or at least they will sound that way at 4am.

brum, that sounds like a perfect thread for you to start...you go first then the rest of us will come after ::o

    • This is where I sit too. A two day event is bearable. Three tests my tolerance. Finding the right balance on size, noise and impact is where I contribute to the consultation process. BUT, as I wrote elsewhere, every year the GALA organisers ask/ push for more, and deals have already been done with the council before it gets to public consultation stage. It is also worth pointing out that when a licence was first granted, the orgnaisation was different (We Are the Fair), one of the company directors lived literally next to the park (she left when it became GALA) and the current form bears no resemblance to original ethos/ vision sold to the council and licensing committee. This needs to be pointed out and I am fairly confident local councillors would also support a pushback on any further expansion. We have local elections next year, so councillors ears will be open.
    • Niko was really great. He fixed my blocked shower very quickly, was great at communicating and a lovely guy to talk to. And he doesn't charge the earth!
    • Not really sure why SE22 is getting upset about Brockwell Park.  I expect more people around here attend the festivals than are inconvenienced by it.  But it supports my view that many like to complain even when not directly affected. Football grounds move.  Attendances change.  Demographic too,not old blokes in flat caps or boys in short trousers with rattles.  Arsenal attendances at the Emirates are over twice what they were in the late 80s at Highbury.  Much more disruption in N1 nowadays.  DHFC tripples what they were 15 years ago, but good news is much quieter than the past.
