Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has recovered from, or knows someone who has recovered from, postnatal psychosis? I'm a writer and close friend of someone who has just been diagnosed with pp. Seeing her go through these terrifying initial stages has prompted me to write an article about the illness. It seems very little appears in the public eye and very few people have heard of pp, as opposed to pnd which is relatively well known about now.

I am looking to speak to someone who has been through this experience and got better as I think a positive story to include in the article might help other sufferers. The article would be for Grazia magazine.

If you or someone you know might be happy to talk to me further, please email me or reply to the thread. I'm looking to speak to anyone who is interested tomorrow.

Thanks a lot,

Daisy

Dear Daisy,

If you contact the RCN or the Royal College of Midwives, or even google to see if there is a specialised charity to raise awareness of this issue, you may find that they can put you in contact with an expert patient. This is a terrifying illness, but most midwives will have seen it.

Best wishes,
