Nero
Saw two blokes, very probably indeed gay, holding hands near to the hospice charity shop, about ten to seven. Was surprised, not shocked. Have seen this much in Old Compton Street but never in the 'burbs. It's notable because it's rare. char1ie
1.30am down the fresh meat aisle in Sainsbury's. Woopsies central. Not seen them out and about on Lordship Lane for some time. I bet they're a bit disappointed to be spotted near somewhere so lacking in glamour. In all seriousness I know loads. And they're all local. Most I know wouldn't hold hands. Too busy driving round in the Saab, the Porsche or the BMW. SeanMacGabhann
I don't think people are doing it for shock value MW - it's more a "good to see, another reason I like living here and not Ilford" kind of thingWhen I first arrived in the UK and being Irish wasn't quite as acceptable as it is now, I would have posted on a forum (if such things as the internet, widespread PC availability and a fast modem existed) if I actually met another Irish person in Swindon Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1299-gay-lib-outside-the-charity-shop-contains-rudeness/#findComment-35014 Share on other sites
char1ie
This is a thread about the increasing cosmopolitanisation of Lordship Lane. Not a thread about the fact that someone saw a couple of gay men openly being gay. And my post was a toungue in cheek joke. MadWorld74
I guess growing up and being from Brighton I take no notice of things like two men holding hands. citizenED
Being a big softie my heart always leaps a little whenever I see anyone holding hands. If I see two guys or two girls doing it then I think that my life is getting better - its good to know that this area is considered liberal enough.citizen Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1299-gay-lib-outside-the-charity-shop-contains-rudeness/#findComment-35024 Share on other sites

James
To be honest I am often a bit taken aback when I see other gay men making PDA's. Most surprising for me was two blokes kissing quite passionately on a packed 12, late at night. I wouldn't dare! But then, I probably wouldn't want to either.
